Deceived

Still can't get your cheap perfume out of my blazer,

Don't know how you thought it would "amaze her."

Instead, I was dumped on the corner of Flinders in the rain,

And I was a minute late so I missed my train.

You recommended a cheap pizza place, couldn't have been worse,

It was so crowded and someone ended up stealing my purse.

The food was terrible, hers was burnt and mine was raw,

She smiled before she said goodbye and that's the last one that I saw.

Honestly, I wished I hadn't trusted your "expertise",

Because I ended up dumped on a street corner and left to freeze.

Why did I ever think that you'd know what she liked,

Any date would have been better, we could have gone out and hiked.

Now I've lost my date and soon I'll lose my mind,

I want her back because she was the best that I could ever find.

So sit here, waiting for my train when a curly black-haired girl asks if I'm okay,

Smiling back I say, you just made my day.
