IT TOOK A WHILE FOR JIN to leave the house. He was so adamant on shipping Taehyung and Aspen together that he had even started a ship name, Taspen. Of course, Aspen found it stupid and Taehyung didn't really say anything about it as he didn't understand what "shipping" was. Was it some sort of boat reference? He couldn't tell.
Aspen was eventually able to force him out of the house. "Bye Jin! Don't come back!" She called to him, closing the door behind him with a sigh. She loved Jin, she really did, but he could be overwhelming at times.
"Are you alright?" Taehyung asked her as Aspen leaned against the door with her eyes closed. He stood a good distance away from her, not wanting to make her more upset by his presence. He could sense it radiating off of her, how overwhelmed she was.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Aspen opened her eyes and stood up straight. "I'm sorry about Jin. He just...gets in over his head by the smallest things." She could only handle handle Jin's energy in short bursts of time.
Taehyung simply nodded, looking down at his feet without a word. He didn't looked up when he heard Aspen's footsteps growing closer and then walked past him. She had gone to the thermostat to turn up the heat as it was still very cold in the house. Taehyung settled that he'd just have to sit in front of the fan.
Taehyung eventually went back into the living room, going to sit down while Aspen went into the kitchen to make herself some tea as she wasn't in the mood for coffee.
Aspen turned on the stove and filled her teakettle full of water so that it would boil. She put it over the burner before going back out into the living room.
"Can I watch something?" She asked, though she had already taken the remote from off the table. For days in end Amazing World of Gumball played and Aspen was ready to change it up. Taehyung simply nodded, watching at Aspen turned off the cartoon and went to another streaming app, HBO.
She went to the first profile out of 2, the second one belonging to Jin as they decided they'd share an account, and went to a show called Euphoria. "I've been meaning to watch this for a while now." Taehyung turned to look at Aspen who had settled into the couch, watching the show play in front of her attentively. He sat down beside her.
Soon, Aspen's teakettle whistled to signal that it was done boiling, though the screeching sound sounded more like high-pitched screaming to Taehyung's sensitive ears. He flinched at the assaulting sound, covering his ears in attempt to block the sound. Aspen quickly took notice of his pain and went into the kitchen to take the kettle off of the burner and stop the whistling. She had completely forgotten about his hearing.
"Are you okay?" Aspen asked, coming back into the living room once she took the pot off of the burner. She knelt done in front of Taehyung and reached out, carefully grabbing his wrist and pulling his hands from over his ear.
