"이십 일"
ASPEN WOKE UP EARLY THE NEXT MORNING to find Taehyung fast asleep right beside her, his hair messy, falling over his face in long curls and waves. His face was pressed into one of her pillows, mouth slightly agape. She lay there for a moment, admiring his features under the pale moonlight that streamed through the window..
His hair revealed itself to be browner than she initially thought. The moon made him look paler than he actually was. He was dotted with sparse beauty marks. Aspen desired to kiss each one of them, all over his face and neck.
She rubbed her eyes, sitting up slowly in bed and looking around the room, trying to get her eyes adjusted to the darkness around her. It was really early, around 4 in the morning. The moon was still shining dimmly in the sky, the sun won't be rising for hours.
She looked down at Taehyung, the pale moonlight shining over his beautiful face, making his smooth, flawless skin glow almost ethereally.
Taehyung was truly was a beautiful person, externally, and more importantly, internally. He was kind, loving, smart, and caring. That was more she could say for her other boyfriends. After a while, they ignored her, neglected her, left her alone to herself and herself only.
This is why Aspen didn't date. She didn't have relationships because they never ended well for her.
Would she even consider Taehyung her boyfriend?
Aspen shook her head. She couldn't think about this right now. She was too tired to, though she wasn't tired enough to fall back to sleep. So she carefully slid from the bed, placing her feet on the cold floor. She stood up straight and stretched, her joints cracking as she did so. She even wiggled her toes a bit. Aspen didn't know why, it was just out of habit.
Aspen took one last glance at Taehyung before quietly leaving the room as to not disturb his slumber. She walked down the hall and down the stairs past the living room and into the kitchen.
She turned on her coffee maker, wincing at the loud beep that rung out to signal that it was turned on. Always so loud and was a major pain in the ass when she was living with someone with heightened hearing.
Aspen paused for a moment to see if Taehyung had woken up and if he was coming down. When she found that there were no footsteps, she continued along her own way, brewing her own coffee for the morning.
She grabbed her teakettle and filled it with water before placing it on a burner to boil. She thought it would be kind to make Taehyung his tea as he always made her coffee for her in the mornings.
Maybe today would be the day that she would sit down and talk to Taehyung about their relationship status. If they were going to put a lable on them.
What was she thinking? Falling for an extraterrestrial being with someone who wasn't even from Earth. A being who would be leaving her soon. It wasn't if, it was when. It was inevitable that he'd leave her.
