The Last Laugh’s Mine
I believe that I just heard the slamming of the door
The way I heard it slam a dozen times before
But this time there won’t be no tears in my eyes
You might be leaving, but it’s me that’s saying good-bye
So don’t expect me here when you return
You play with fire baby, you’re gonna burn
Looks like we’re gonna play this game one more time
You might think the laugh’s on me,
But the last laugh’s mine
Now I’m not saying everything has always been bad
Someday I’ll realize you were the best thing I ever had
After all you showed me everything I didn’t need
Gave me time to find myself, someone I believe
So don’t expect me here when you return
You play with fire baby, you’re gonna burn
Looks like we’re gonna play this game one more time
You might think the laugh’s on me,
But the last laugh’s mine
See all those nights you were running around
You weren’t the only one who painted up the town
While you were looking for those one night stands
I found someone to love me just the way I am
The way I am
So don’t expect me here when you return
You play with fire baby, you’re gonna burn
Looks like we’re gonna play this game one more time
You might think the laugh’s on me,
But the last laugh’s mine
