Chapter 4- The Carnival

Roni's PoV:
My jaw drops. It's amazing!
Roni: Can you believe how pretty it is! I can't wait to have a proper look at this place!
Alex comes out from nowhere.
Alex: Neither can we. You do know we can just enter?
He laughs at our amusement.
Nessa: Yeah, we know, but it's so hypnotising. The lights, the design, the patterns, it's all so pretty.
The slight breeze feels good on my face, I grab Nessa's hand and walk forward.
?: Excuse me, erm I think you've grabbed the wrong hand. Hahaha.
I quickly let go.
Roni: I'm so sorry. I thought you were my sister.
He walks away, not looking back. I wonder who that was. Nobody in particular I hope.
Roni: Nessa!!! Where are you??!?
I shout, it's already so loud and crowded, I need to find Nessa. Where did that girl get to? Nessa doesn't seem to be around here. She could've already entered.

Nessa's PoV:
I'm standing around. I'm next to Roni. I'm taking this all in. I Love it. It's amazing. And then next thing I know I'm being hugged, or you could say grabbed from behind, but it takes me a second to actually acknowledge this.
Nessa: Leave me alone! Let go of me!!
I think I might have jinxed myself, I was talking about those kidnapping fanfictions earlier on.
I'm filled with fear though, it just takes another minute to get out of shock.
I'm taken to one of the tents in the carnival. Would I really be in here if I was being kidnapped? And next thing I know, I'm in a tent, it's striped just like the normal ones. Not too big, filled with stuffed animals and piñatas. I turn around to see who grabbed me.

Roni's PoV:
I decide I might as well go in without Nessa. We are trying to be independent after all. I look around as I enter through the lit up archway. I have no idea where to look, but I guess my eyes have caught something. The Ferris wheel. The seats are filled with families, all laughing, I can hear them over all this noise. It's quite spectacular. And then something else catches my eye. A childhood I guess.
I walk over to the tent on my right. The pink stuff, the pink stuff that clouds are made of. I decide to get some freshly made cotton candy. It tastes like childhood and sugar. It might give me acne, but I want to enjoy myself. How could I refuse all of this. It's only a small bag anyway.

Nessa's PoV:
I turn around, and well, I didn't expect that. A masked figure.
Nessa: Unmask yourself now! Before I scream to the world. Who are you??!?
Masked: They can't hear you out there.
It's a deep voice, it almost sounds fake. I want to pick up a bat from the corner of the tent, but I can see a gun and I don't want to risk anything.
The mask comes off.
Nessa: Wait, whut in da world?!?
It's a familiar face, I smile. Wait what, a double plot twist.
Nessa: Wait, Darcy! Wait what is happening?!
Darcy: I didn't know you were going to be here actually, but I was planning on surprising you guys, so I bought a fake gun. (She holds up the fake gun). Yep, it's fake. But I had this costume in my car, since I just arrived from Missouri. I saw you here and decided to scare you.
(I told you this was going to be a unique ff, no kidnappings here! This is not a diss to kidnapping fanfics, I actually love them!)
I give her a big hug.
Nessa: I haven't seen you in years! I missed you so much. I can't believe it, what is happening? This is so nice. We need to catch up!!
Darcy: But I have a plan first, I think we need to scare Roni. And then we'll explore.

Roni's PoV:
I'm looking around and find Alex.
Roni: Hey Alex, hey Lauren. Have you seen Nessa? I'm looking for her.
Lauren: No, we haven't seen her. She might be on the Ferris wheel. Or somewhere playing a game, this year too Place is huge, you'll find her eventually. If we see her, we'll tell her that you're looking for her. 
They give me a smile of assurance. It's something I need right now.
Roni: Thank you, Yeah, she probably is somewhere around here.
I decide that I need to play some games, I'm not going to be here all night. I'm walking around and I spot the iconic game of throwing a ball at the stacked cups. I go towards it. And then something happens. I'm grabbed from behind. A hand over my mouth. People are too busy being distracted. I can't kick, my feet are being dragged. I feel tears running down my face. I freeze, I can't react. And then everything goes black...
I open my eyes to see I'm in a tent, on the dirt floor. I quickly get up and gain my balance, after a second of leaning to one side, I see Nessa, she looks serious.
Nessa: Roni! You're okay! Just please don't move. Please!
I spot baseball bats in the corner for the piñatas, I guess, and that's when I feel a metal object come to my head. A gun to be more specific.
I freeze. It's the end, I'm going to die! And that's when I hear it.
Darcy: Don't move, don't scream, and I won't shoot. Simple.
It's a deep voice, and it sounds fake. I turn around and see a masked figure.
Roni: Who are you?
The gun is pressed harder on my head. I go silent, scared. A finger falls onto the trigger.
The mask comes on.
My eyes widen.
Darcy: You miss me?
I breathe. Wait what? My heart is beating at a million miles an hour. I'm shaking more than I ever have, sweating in places I didn't know I could sweat. I try to calm down. It's Darcy... You're fine... I tell myself.
Roni: Omg! You scared the life out of me. I hate you!
I give her a huge hug, she laughs and hugs back.
Roni: I missed you! I missed you so much! Why did you have to scare me though.
Darcy: Well...
She tells me the whole story.
Roni: So, you knew about this? I was looking for you!!
I have my hands on my hips and a stern face.
Nessa: I'm sorry! She did it to me too. It was her idea! Come on, let's just enjoy it tonight. Also, thank you for the cotton candy, I'm sorry about that too.
Roni: Nessa!!
She laughs, I smile.
Darcy: Let's have a great night then. Let's catch up and enjoy ourselves. How about that?
We walk out the tent, temporarily blinded by the light.
