Hi everyone, SK here.
So, you've met August and Valerie.. but there's still someone new that you have to meet. I think you know who it is.
Before I go overboard on this A/N, I'll start the chapter now. Enjoy!
Verity
"Heliux, wait!"
I open my eyes to Layra's urgent voice flying past my room. What time is it...?
From looking out my window, I can tell that it's late-morning. Sighing, I get out of bed, stretch, and change into my day-clothes. I slip on my royal blue romper with my purple shall; the shall has a beautiful yellow outline and is joined together by a star-shaped button. I put on my red gem belt that has what I like to call a cape flowing out of it; the piece of fabric is decorated with pretty yellow spiral designs. As I finish my look by putting on my dark purple boots and golden collar necklace, I can't help but sigh. Couldn't I have slept for a couple more minutes at least?
Normally I would have just stayed in bed, but it's Layra's voice that really got me awake. Specifically, the urgency of it. No one should be sounding urgent on the weekend, so something must be wrong. If something's wrong, I figure I should probably be awake.
Dad should also probably be awake, and if I just woke up, he is certainly still sleeping. He sometimes gets up early to train with Greninja, but today's Sunday. He doesn't train on the weekend.
I open the door to the hallway with a yawn, then walk down the hallway. As I pass August's room, I hear him and Mom, but I also hear a new voice. A new fairy? I question. But from the one line I've heard, Heliux seems upset. I don't think he'd be upset by a new fairy... or would he? That man is all over the place.
Frustration seeps through me. I hate being left out of the loop. I want to know what's happening, and I want to know now.
As soon as I'm about to push open Dad's door, I feel a hand on my shoulder. Jumping, I quickly spin around, but I'm met with relief to see that it's only Mom.
"Looks like someone's finally awake," she teases, making me smile. "Did you sleep well?"
I nod. "Are the Ministers okay?" I ask her. "I heard them running past my room a few seconds ago. Also, I heard a new voice in August's room, who is it?"
Mom laughs. "Nothing escapes you, Verity," she tells me with a glint in her eye. "Why don't you go to his room and see? I'll go and wake up your father."
"Okay then," I agree, and I turn around to travel in the direction that I originally came from. Once I reach August's door, I curl my hand up into a fist and knock three times. He opens the door and peaks through, and once he sees that it's me, he opens the door fully.
"Look who finally decided to wake up," he begins. "Valerie, this is my sister, Verity."
Who's- Valerie, I was going to think, but I suddenly see the girl sitting at August's desk. She has long wavy chocolate-coloured hair, and eyes that remind me of the night sky. She's... she's very beautiful. I feel my heart flutter just by looking at her.
She also doesn't have wings, so she's not a full fairy. That's normal, though. When someone new comes into the Colony for the first time, they don't have wings until they get Initiated.
"Hi," I tell her, still sounding a little wary. I don't know what her relationship with my brother is, but I sure as heck don't have one with her, despite her looks. I don't know this girl yet, so I'm not going to act like she's my best friend. "Welcome to the Colony."
