Hi everyone, SK here!

So this chapter is going to be a lot of the characters just doing stuff, partying, and also showing our two new "Elementals" around the Colony.  But stick around for the end, because Red will make his decision... anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Edit: The timing of this is mad, this book hits 2K right before I publish the party chapter, and it happens right before the one-year anniversary of The Fairy's Cure's completion.  Usually the universe never aligns for me like this so I'll take what I can get.  So while the twins and Val party, I will also be celebrating.  Thank you so much, all of you! <3

August

Valerie, Verity, and I sit on one of the Colony's floating platforms together, watching as the sky transforms from blue to a whole array of warm colours to indigo.  We can see the sun begin to set over the horizon but the picturesque scene unfortunately gets cropped short because of the tree line.  Still, the sky gets dark pretty quickly.  On this clear night the stars begin to twinkle and come to life while the lack of a moon creates a very dark night.

The three of us trailed with Red and Leaf for a bit and my sister and I got to know them a little- how is Red only 20, he acts so mature?- but we realized that his goal is to observe the whole Colony, not just us three.  So Red and Leaf went off and that just left us.

To be honest, even hours later I'm still fuming at my parents over their idiotic opinion.  Verity and I can be trusted, don't we deserve a little bit of authority in the Colony after all this time?

"I know what you're thinking, August," Valerie murmurs suddenly, leaning onto my shoulder.  "Thinking about hatred just makes it worse, trust me, I know."

I gaze at her warily.  "Were you reading my thoughts?"

She shakes her head as a response, smiling as she does so.  "I didn't need to.  It was written all over your face."

"Ugh, let's just agree that our parents can be stupid sometimes," Verity groans, stretching her arms as the night dawns.  "Well maybe Heliux and Layra aren't stupid- well, in parenting anyway.  Heliux has his fair share of stupid moments."

Valerie chuckles at this.  "I'm sure they both have their flaws."

Glancing down below, I see my parents gathering everyone around their balcony- probably not for Red's mission, but for the party.  After the fairies all disperse excitedly, my suspicions are proven correct.  "Well, the party's started," I say to the girls who have been chatting between each other this whole time.  They stop when I speak, though.

"I've never been to a fairy party before," Valerie says, sounding a little shy.  "What should I expect?"

"Craziness, pure craziness," exclaims Verity.  Wow, you had that answer right on the tip of your tongue Verity.  "But don't worry, it's really fun.  Promise."

"We'll both be there if you ever feel nervous about anything," I add quickly.  I'll be there if you ever feel nervous about anything, I think to her, hoping that she's listening.  She's turned away from me right now, but when Valerie turns to face me once more I can see just by the expression on her face that she was.

Verity's fast to speak up.  "So, what do we want to do first?"

"We can try some Mist Battles," I offer, but Valerie shakes her head.

"I don't really feel like doing that right now," she confesses, sounding guilty.  "Sorry."

"No need to apologize," I tell her promptly, shaking off the idea.  Averting my eyes I place my hand on my chin, trying to contemplate about what things there are to do tonight.
