The whole track was unproblematic, but I shouldn't say much as Taryn passed around to enter her last lap around. Jak and I watched the men across and they were just watching the race and enjoying themselves. They seemed interested in it, and it wasn't in a weird way. Just normal enjoyment. At this point I felt like they were just waiting to see who would win.
"They're not even do anything!" Daxter flared up and sighed out with boredom. "You guys aren't even watching this mess!" He cried out.
"Something's wrong." Jak commented, looking back to me. "Something bad is gonna happen." He looked scared, this put chills down my spine as we looked around the crowd for something to happen. "Stay here, I'm gonna find something." Jak commanded, and extended his arm to let Daxter climb to my shoulder. He ran off, to the direction of everyone as he pulled out his hover board and zoomed off.
"What's happening?" Daxter caught our fright, dropping his sass and glamour.
"I don't know." I peered at the men and they weren't doing anything.
A car screech around the corner to catch my eye, Taryn was in the lead and only short distance away. She had one other driver on her side and was fighting it out for first. I leaned in closer, holding onto my hands together. The flood of worry hit hard as I saw her starting to get closer. She took first place with the other man still on her as she was about to cross.
A loud explosion happen, shaking the whole stadium.
Taryn's racecar bursted into flames and caught the person next to her. The heat of the flame hit the track and everyone was gasping and screaming.
Staring at the track, the feeling of dread washed over me. No... it can't be.
"Taryn!" I screamed, rushing the track with a surge of blue eco inside of me. Sliding to her car, I felt the heat making it where I couldn't get closer. "Taryn!" I yelled, almost begging for a response. Jak rushed to my side, turning into his Light form and bringing out his wings. Jak fanned the car down, getting rid of the flames as I rushed in closer to her.
Her body was lifeless and charcoal like. "Taryn?" Daxter started breaking down too, climbing to my forearm and resting to see her. "Come'on, you gotta be ok... please." Daxter begged.
The tears flushed my eyes along with Daxter's. The flames started again, causing some sparks in the air and letting us look at the car again. Jak rushed to us, engulfing us into a hug and a blast of explosion killed the car as a whole. Jak slowly pushed away from my chest as I saw his shield covering us.He looked back to the car and I was left on the track's floor.
I started to sob out, letting out a wail of pain and sadness.
