❄️
I float effortlessly above the waves, letting my hand fall and touch the top of the water as the wind carries me across the sea. The sun is finally rising and a thin fog rises above the ocean with the warmth. The morning is when I allow my thoughts to wander the most, it's quiet and calm watching the clouds turn a soft pink and yellow as the world fills with light.

Daytime is usually uneventful, I spend the night darting around villages and cities, creating snow and ice.

However, recently I've become bored. I need something new. I haven't even existed very long and I'm already restless, maybe I shouldn't let myself think so much. Yesterday I decided I would find a change of scenery and just started flying straight out in one direction. After only an hour of drifting above land I met the ocean and my surroundings haven't changed since. Just hour after hour of water.
The only thing that changes is the weather, and it's stunning how quickly it changes out here. One minute it's bright and sunny, then suddenly it's pouring rain and dark before flipping back. I've been above the ocean for 3 days and already been through 2 intense storms. At first I panicked, it's hard to stay controlled on the wind when it's going in every possible direction at a million different speeds. I found that darting up above the clouds was the best method of escaping the weather, it's always peaceful up there.

I turn so I'm floating on my back with my face towards the sky. I squint my eyes, I think I see a large cloud in the distance. It should be fine, before I worry about that I need to worry about rest.

Even though I'm some kind of non-human person or something (I'm not sure what exactly I am) I still have to sleep. Not sleep like people do, when they lay down for 10 hours. Instead, I get rest at random times for short periods of time. Usually an hour a day is good, however I've been flying along in the wind for 4 days straight with no rest, and I don't see anywhere to land in the near future.

The wind is picking up, it's colder now, and the large cloud is much closer. I start to fly up, if I can get close to the clouds before the storm hits it will be a lot easier to get above to safety. I don't have the energy to waste on flying through rough weather right now.

The storm hits.

It's much stronger than I expected, and being high up in the clouds is not an advantage. The rain is pounding against my face and the wind is moving me quickly with the thick, dark clouds.

Lighting explodes out near me, I can feel the heat from the blast. It's so bright, I am caught off guard.

I fall.

I'm falling.

The waves are large and I'm tumbling closer and closer to them. It should be fine, so far I've never been injured, I'm pretty sure I can't get hurt, let alone die, however I don't like water. Especially not large expanses of cold water with large waves crashing into itself. I struggle to regain balance, regain a bit of control over the wind. Yes! I did it. I caught myself moments before hitting the water. I sigh a short sigh of relief, still focusing hard on staying in control.

The storm is finally starting to let up. The wind has calmed down, along with the waves, but rain is still falling from the sky. I'm way too tired now to attempt to get above the clouds. I look up away from the water for the first time since the lighting. I can see something...there's something in the distance. It's an island! It's hard to see, it's surrounded by fog, but it's there!

I use the last little bit of my energy to fly faster toward the land, collapsing onto the sand. I'm so tired. I can't see much of the island around me in the fog, if there's any living thing around it shouldn't be a danger to me, won't even see me anyways.

I close my eyes as the sun sets around me, making the fog look orange. Finally I can rest.
