Chapter 34

Akira's P. O. V:

I hum to myself as I walk to the guild hall, Momo and Loki with me. Since I wasn't planning on going on a job today, I'd decided to wear a pair of pink shorts with a pink tank top with my ink sleeveless hoodie over it, and my long blonde hair is pulled into a droopy ponytail.

As usual, I'd slept in and Nanami, Vivienne and Grandfather has left for the guild earlier. We soon reach the guild hall just as the building shakes violently.

I pause and heave a sigh.

"Looks like they're at it again," Momo says.

"Those humans are terribly uninteresting," Loki mumbles, his eye twitching.

"You've said it," I mumble back. I push open the doors, only to see Natsu and Gray fighting each other as usual. I walk over to Lucy, Erza, Wendy, Nanami and the Exceeds who are sitting at a table. "Hey, guys!" I greet.

"Hi, Aki-chan," Lucy returns, smiling up at me. "Sleep in again?"

I sweat drop. "Uh, yeah. I guess..."

"You're not going on any jobs today?" Wendy asks me, noticing I'm not in my work attire.

"No. That's why I thought I'd dress down today," I reply. "I was just planning on performing with Momo-chan today." Erza's, Wendy's and Lucy's eyes light up at that.

"Your and Momo's singing are always something to look forward to," Wendy says.

"Thank you, Wendy-chan," I say, beaming at her. Momo gives her an appreciated closer eye smile. I look around and notice that Grandfather isn't here. "Where's Grandfather?" I ask.

Nanami replies, "He left for a job this morning. He won't be back for a couple of days."

"Oh," I utter.

"Okay!! Now that you're here, Aki-chan, FIGHT ME!" Natsu yells after having broken from his fight with Gray. I glare at him in annoyance and he shrinks back a little.

"Weren't you fighting Gray just now?" I question.

"Yeah, but I really want to fight you, Aki-chan! Come on! Please?!" Natsu begs. My eyes twitch.

"No," I state simply. Natsu just ignores my response and charges at me with a flaming fist.

"This'll be good," Gray says, smirking.

I jerk my head sideways to avoid Natsu's punch, causing him to scowl. Then, I hold out my left hand and crystal shards pierce Natsu's clothing, pinning him back against the wall. Natsu scowls as he struggles against the crystals holding him.

Most of my guild mates burst out laughing.

I let out a sigh as I raise my hand and make the crystals disappear.

"Akira! Come here for a moment," Master calls. I turn toward him. He's sitting on the bar counter as usual, a mug of alcohol in hand. I go over to him, wondering what this is about. "I just got a job request in asking for you and Rogue to rescue the young daughter of the owner of a jewellery store in Iris Town who was kidnapped by a group of bandits. They won't give her back unless the girl's parents meet their demands."

I clench my fists in anger, but nod my head. "Alright, Master. Where is the job?"

"Valeris Town," Master replies. "Rogue will meet you at Magnolia Station soon."

"Okay." I turn and go over to my teammates. "Momo, we have a new mission. Loki. You're more than welcome to join."

"Very well, human," Loki says, getting up.
