"This should be a better school for you," my mother said.

"I hope it is," I said and looked at the transfer papers my mother had brought home for me.

"It should be, Y/N. Their reputation is remarkable and their no bullying policy is one no school can match."

"Uh huh, that's what you said about the last school," I mumbled the last part to myself.

"I know starting a new school, especially in a new year, is really tough."

"Yeah," I sighed and signed the transfer papers. I knew if I kept continuing, I would not win this.

"I just hope everything goes alright this year for you," my mother said and left my room.

"You and me both," I said and grabbed my phone.

I opened it up to see there were no new notifications. Actually, there were no notifications at all. I wasn't really the most friendly person. I only made one friend at my previous school, but we were never close. We just talked to each other about school, but we never hung out. I turned off my phone and grabbed my laptop. I opened it up and read more about the school that I was going to in a week.

They were highly respectable within the community. They had a lot of activities I could try to keep myself occupied and make friends. They had some intramural sports as well as competitive sports. Like how normal high schools are. They even had one student that made it to states in a few several sports. Women's volleyball, women's basketball, and women's wrestling. I looked at the girl's picture they had. She was the star of the school this Abigail Anderson. Wait, was she even a girl? She has the physique of a male, but had a braid. I mean, men do grow their hair out sometimes, but she also had a female name. Was she transgender? But I am not one to assume before meeting. I closed my laptop and sighed to myself. Starting all over was not going to be fun. Nor was it going to be easy.

"Are you ready? It's a big day for you," my mother said.

"Yeah," I said and finished tying my shoes.

"Do you want me to take you or the bus?" my mother asked.

"The bus should be fine," I said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I have to make new friends somehow," I said.

"Alright. Have fun today," my mother kissed my head before leaving the house.

I walked out the front door and locked it. I walked down the street and to where my bus stop was. There were a few people already there waiting for the bus. There was this one girl who looked just as shy as I am. However, I wanted to make the first move and talk to her. I walked up to her and was about to say something, but nothing came out of my mouth. So I just stood there, looking at her with my wide open mouth.

"Is something the matter?" she asked, a bit creeped out.

"Uh, no, I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to stare at you with my mouth wide open. I just wanted to say hi, but I didn't know how to greet you. I'm new here."

"I figured," she chuckled.

"H-How so?"

"I saw your moving van coming into the neighborhood a month ago. Don't worry. I can show you around the school once we get there. I'm Ellie," she said.

"Y-Y/N."

"Nice to meet you, Y/N. You're going to meet friend Dina."

"I would like to meet her."

Ellie smiled. The bus came a few minutes later and we got on. Ellie walked over to another girl and sat next to her. I sat across the aisle from them.

"Y/N, this is my friend Dina," Ellie said.

"Nice to meet you, Y/N," Dina smiled.

"Nice to meet you, too," I said to Dina. "Are we all in the same year?"

"You a junior?" Ellie asked.

"Yeah."

"Yeah we're all in the same year," Dina said. "We can help you get used to the school."

"T-Thanks," I smiled.

The bus drove off and I tried to have a conversation with Ellie and Dina. I could tell they tried their hardest to include me, but I was just too awkward for them. The bus stopped for the last stop before it dropped us off at the school.

"Oh no," Dina said as she poked her head out from the seat.

"What?" I asked and watched a few more people get on.

"It's Abby," Dina said.

"Just ignore her," Ellie said.

"Who's Abby?" I asked.

They were about to answer, but Abby walked over to where I was sitting.

"You're in my seat," Abby said.

"I am?" I asked and looked around.

"What are you doing?" Abby asked.

"Y-Your name's not on the seat."

"I see," Abby said and put her hands on the top of the seats. She leaned towards me and got in my face. "You're new here, aren't you? I heard we were getting a transfer student. What's the reason you transferred?"

"I-It's none of your business," I said.

She backed away and chuckled, "That's cute. Well I am going to give you a proper welcome to our school." She got in my face again, making me hit my head against the window. "Piss me off, you piss off the beast."

She walked towards the back of the bus and sat with a group of her friends. I was breathing a bit heavily since confrontation was not my thing. I sat back down and looked at Ellie and Dina.

"W-Who's Abby?" I asked.

"That's Abby," Dina said.

"The school think she's the best of the best since she went to states in women's basketball, volleyball, and wrestling. She has picked on other students, but they don't do anything since her father is on the school board. Not to mention, they get name recognition with Abby," Dina said.

"Her head is so far up her ass that she doesn't even know," Ellie said.

"Has she ever tried to bully you two?" I asked.

"Yeah. But we just ignored her since we know there is nothing we can do about it," Dina said.

"She mentioned something about the beast?" I asked.

"That's what her team nickname is on all of the teams she's on. The Beast," Ellie said.

"She is a beast in real life to others," Dina said. "You holding up ok there? Kind of a bad first meet with Abby."

"I-I should be ok," I said.

I looked over at Abby and saw she had a huge smile on her face. She looked like she was laughing. Even though that first meeting with her was unexpected and I wasn't prepared for, there was something about her.
