"She's in here," Kya stood at the door with her brother Bumi as Tenzin and the kids joined them at the southern water tribe.
"Where's korra?" She asked her little brother as ikky held jinora's hand behind their father.
"She's outside, I'll go see if she wants to come in, you kids can go say hi to gran gran," Tenzin looked at his children as the girls peeked inside the room and the boys didn't move, each holding pema's hand.
Jinora lead her sister in as they both saw Toph sitting with Katara next to the bed, she held the older woman's hand as Katara inhaled deeply on her death bed. Their friendship lasting a life time together...
"Your brats are here," Toph told her in a raspy breath.
"Be nice you hag," Katara whispered with a small smile.
"Hi gran gran," jinora went to the bed as ikky smiled over at her.
"How are you beautiful girls?" Katara saw her grandchildren as Toph stood up when she heard Pema bring Meelo and Rohan in.
She walked out to give them time together, Toph held her hands behind her back and her head down.
"How are you holding up twinkle toes?" Toph asked when korra walked in the house with asami.
"How much longer?" Korra asked as asami gripped her hand softly in comfort.
"Her hearts slowing down by each hour it seems like," Toph gulped, she felt a tear run down her cheek. She'll be with her old friends soon but it was sad to feel each heart beat stop one by one, the reason she went to the swamp so she didn't have to anymore.
Korra swallowed a lump in her throat as Tenzin put his hand on her shoulder, the three siblings walked with the avatar to the room when the grandchildren walked out.
Katara smiled seeing the four, her eyes drifted open and closed, when she opened them again someone else stood with them.
"Your back," she smiled at the man behind korra and next to Tenzin.
"Hey mom," bumi knelt next to her.
"Hello sweet boy," she touched the side of his face.
"I'll haunt you all if you dare start crying," Katara wiped away her oldests tear down his face.
"Ha.. I'll try mama," bumi held her hand to his cheek.
"I'm proud of you bumi," she smiled with tears in her eyes seeing he had another tear run down his face. He looked like her father when he grew up.
"You remind me of your uncle and grandfather," she whispered just for him to hear. He kissed her hand gently and felt Kya kneel with him.
"Your dads gonna be thrilled to hear what you all have done, I'm proud of each one of you," Katara gulped with a smile.
"The first thing that pops in your head is the reason," she smirked a little as korra laughed smiling.
"It was an honor working with you master Katara," korra bowed to her.
"Honor was all mine," Katara chuckled. "Not many people get to work with two avatars,"
"Your totally gloating about it, like when you first started to train her,"
Katara looked in front of her and smiled seeing golden eyes looking over at her with four other figures in the room.
She looked over at the window seeing the moon shining down at her.
"I missed you yue, can't wait to see you soon," she breathed.
"Hey, I think it's time,"
Katara felt a cool hand touch hers, she gulped a little but smiled nodding.
"I still want to see them grow up," Katara gulped little.
She sat up and got to her feet, strong tan arms wrapped around her as her long brown hair brushed down her back.
"You stink the same," Katara whispered in her brothers ear.
"I missed you," Sokka laughed a little.
"How's the spirit world?" She smiled brightly.
"Still no bathrooms," her brother chuckled as Zuko rolled his eyes at them.
"Thanks for the heads up," Zuko crossed his arms with his thick black hair was tied back.
"We all knew, did we forget to let you know?" Suki laughed at him. Katara giggled and hugged her old friend, she hasn't aged since her 20's.
"It's been to long," Suki whispered to her.
"I'm not surprised Toph is the winner though, she'll cause hell on korra as long as she can," Katara looked back as she saw her family in tears, kya buried her face in bumi's shoulder as Tenzin held his wife, as well as korra holding hers.
"Do you still get to see them?" Katara pursed her lips as she felt tears beginning to burn.
"Yea, you get to see them still, it hurts I know," Zuko touched her shoulder gently as she had a tear slip down her face.
"But they have each other, they'll be okay," he smiled down at her as she nodded wiping her cheek.
"I outlived you," she smiled up at him. Zuko looked at her unamused and pushed her away.
"I outlived Aang," he mumbled crossing his arms.
"This is why Toph won the long run you jack asses," Sokka crossed his arms as Suki snorted holding his hand. He smiled at her gently.
"I still say you both cheated," a new voice chuckled as Aang walked from korra and smiled brightly seeing his wife.
"Hey you," he beamed brightly like the child she met him as.
"Aang," Katara smiled back and hugged him tightly.
"The gangs all here," he kissed her cheek gently as Katara looked up at him happily and looked back at her friends. Her family by destiny.
"Look at them, we both got what we wanted," Katara held aangs hand as they looked at their children.
"They did so well, I wish I could tell them I'm proud," Aang whispered to her.
"They know, they know you love them too," she kissed his cheek back.
"Hey, have you ever been the spirit world?" Aang asked.
All their friends groaned.
"You did this to all of us, Aang she doesn't want-" "Shh it gives us a chance to get off from penguin sledding again," Suki covered sokkas mouth quickly.
"He did the same when uncle came to the spirit world," Zuko rolled his eyes.
"Come on, let's go, they'll be okay," Aang pulled Katara out of the room as she looked back at her children and grandchildren and the rest of her family.
Yea... they'll be okay, they have each other.
"Take care of them Korra," Katara whispered softly before everything turned white when she entered with the others.
