We sat opposite each other to open the last of the two gifts. The gift was bigger than expected. I undid the wrapping paper and inside was cardboard boxes with the well known Vivienne Westwood logo on. I look over the table at Olly who had a massive smile plastered on his face. I continued opening, I came to a note on top of loads of Vivienne Westwood tissue paper. The note read:

For New Years Eve

In Olly’s squiggly handwriting “Where are we off new years?” I asked.

“Continue opening it! And it’s a surprise.” I looked down and carefully undid the paper, under was a white dress, which was beautiful and was so me. He knows me so well! I squealed and ran around the table.

“Olly I love it!” I hugged and kissed his cheek.

“It’s alright darling, I have another gift for you, but I didn’t want to leave this one outside” He handed me another gift bag, which I didn’t realise he was holding until now. This one wasn’t wrapped up, it was a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes. I opened the shoe box and the white £700 shoes I wanted were in the box.

“OLLY!” I hugged him.

“I knew you’ve been wanting some and they’ll go with your dress, let me put your necklace on and got try everything on”

I came back into the room with the dress, shoes and necklace on. And they all fit perfectly!

“Where did you find the shoes, they don’t do them in a size 2?” I said looking at the shoes on my feet.

“I got them made” He smiled hugging me. “Now let me take a photo of you looking stunning as ever” He picked my phone up off the tabled and I smiled with my hand on my hip. He handed my phone and I put it on instagram:

Best Friend Ever xxx @OllyMurs

It turned 11 and me and Olly had just finished our second cup of tea, by this time I had given him his present and had my pyjamas back on.

“Olly thank you so much for the gifts”

“It’s okay Caz, you going to Jodys today?”

“I am, I need to be setting on really, love you Ols” I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him softly. I lied but he hates me being alone.

“Love you too Caz, have fun” He waved and got into his car. I closed the door and suddenly my flat felt lonely and cold, I brought my gifts upstairs and hung my dress on the outside of my wardrobe. The necklace was still around my neck the heart laying against my chest I started playing with it. I entertained myself for a while doing that before deciding It was a good idea to eat something. It’s something I always forget to eat, even though I do it every day and when you’re out and about its practically around every corner, if I’m doing something it totally goes over my head until I can hear my stomach dying.

I went downstairs and put some homemade carrot and coriander soup on the hob while I put the dirty mugs into the dishwasher. I ate my soup and turned on the tv, Olly’s Christmas special was on. I got under a blanket and watched it with a cup of tea. It turned to five and I was still on the sofa watching crap that fills our screens ever Christmas day. That night I had planned to go out drinking with Dawn, Josie, Lou and Gem for a girlie get together on Christmas day, so I thought it’d be beneficial to start getting ready because Dawn was coming at seven in a taxi to pick me up.

I was mid way through curling my hair when the electricity went off,  I let out a squeal as I put the curlers down onto their heatproof mat. I went downstairs to the fuse box because I thought that would of been my problem, but they looked fine in my eyes. I got my phone of the dining room table and texted the one person that’d know what to do.

I answered the door in my towel since I didn’t want to go back upstairs, because knowing me I’d ut my hands straight onto the curlers.

“Caz, what’s happened?” he walked in and kissed my cheek.

“Sort of had a power cut, or a fuse gone, please can you try and fix it I’m going out in forty five minutes and I haven’t finished getting ready” I pleaded.

“I’ll see what I can do” Olly knew where I kept my torches and where the fuse box was since he’s the one I always call if something like this happens.

Within five minutes he had sorted it out and all the electricity was back on.

“You carry on getting ready; you want me to make you a coffee?”

“Thank you Ols, and strong but not black” I ran back upstairs and waited for my curlers to warm back up. I turned on the radio to have something in the background so I wasn’t getting ready in silence.

“I love this song” Olly was stood behind me with two mugs.

“I nearly burnt myself you idiot” I laughed taking a mug from him.

“Sorry” He laughed back while sitting on my bed. “It’s like you’re always there in the corners of my mind, I see your silhouette every time I close my eyes.” He sang along with the radio.

“There must be poison in those finger tips of yours” I continued.

“Cause I keep comin’ back for more, oh oh oh...” he sang.

“This coffee is great Ols” I said while turning my curlers off to start doing my makeup.

“It’s the only thing I can make, that can’t burn” he laughed; I saw his reflection in my mirror he was now laying on my bed.

“Getting yourself comfy?” I joked standing up to get my makeup.

“Yep” He sat up and watched me put on my foundation.

I had finished getting ready and Olly was now downstairs watching TV, since he wanted to watch something football related. I came downstairs since Dawn was outside he turned around to say bye.

“Omg Caz!” he gazed at me.

“Omg Ol, What?” I replied sarcastically.

“You look amazing!” He got up and kissed me on the cheek.

“Thank you” I hugged him back. “You can stay here for a bit, if I get back and my house is on fire, I’m never speaking to you again” I gave him another hug, grabbed my black mui mui coat that Olly got my last year. “Bye Ols!” I yelled behind me.

I climbed into the cab and hugged Dawn. “Where we off then?” I said as soon as we set off.

“Oh just this club, I needed to get away from Chris’s family” Dawn laughed. “They’re meeting us there, your house was on the way.” We pulled up outside a club I vaguely remember from one our past nights out, outside was Josie, Gem and Lou.

“Merry Christmas” I said as I got out the car and hugged my friends.

I got drunk way too fast and I was making a fool of myself pretty sure they’ll be all over the internet by tomorrow. I went to order another round of tequila shots for the girls when a young man with brown hair and stubble caught my eye. The alcohol made me feel confident which was stupid.

“Hiya I’m Caroline” I slurred.

“I’m Jack” He held out his hand for me to shake. “You want a drink?” He asked.

“Yes please red wine please, why are you here alone on Christmas day?”

“One red wine and one scotch, and honesty I couldn’t stay with my family any longer and I could ask the same to you”

“I’m here with my girls, because I didn’t fancy staying alone all night as well as all day.”

“Wait I know who you are!”

“You do?”

“Caroline Flack right?”

“Yep” I laughed.

“Jack Street, music manager”

“Thanks for the wine Jack”
