So, I left you at when John was interrupted by a fire? Well, you must've been waiting for this chapter excitedly. Right, so there are probably some that think John was about to confess that he was the murderer. Some others probably think he was about to lie about something. Well if any of those are what you thought, I will tell you one thing. You.Are.Wrong. John was about to say... wait. Why am I telling you? You shall have to wait :)
"Ring...." and the school bell went. School for Riley and Rose just ended. "Hey!! So, how'd you do for the Science exam just now?" Riley caught up with Rose and asked. "Probably not as good as what you got. TOP in the class, Mr Le announced. I heard. He's not your favourite teacher, is he? He seems like a complete creep." They both laughed and talked. However, Rose never told Riley her marks. It's like she was avoiding the question. Some days, Rider would pick them up from school, send them back home and go to study. He is studying for law school. It has always been a dream of his to graduate from law school. With his excellent grades and report book, he should definitely be able to make his dream come true soon. Other days, the twins would walk home alone which didn't sound too safe but they were on the safest path to walk on ever!!! "Park Lown Reservoir" was the path leading to their house. It leader right from their school to their home. After 5 minutes of walking, Rose turned to Riley and said, "Riley, if I told you my marks, would you promise not to tell anyone?" Riley saw the serious look on her twin's face and replied, "I swear by the Twin Code." Rose looked into Riley's eyes and said, "I got a 91. I'm so disappointed in myself. I knew I had it down. I knew I could've gotten at least a 98! But I got a 91. I was so depressed when I saw my marks. Mom and Dad always taught us to be the best version of ourselves. Now I don't feel like it at all! I am so angry and disappointed at myself." Even though a 91 might seem Super amazing to you, Rose and Riley's standard of themselves are very... very high! Especially since their parents taught them to work hard and be the best version of themselves. And since their parents left them in such an unfortunate way, they had to remember every single word their parents told them. They were determined to be the best versions of themselves.
Riley saw the disappointment on Rose's face and tried to encourage her but she knew this was something Rose would not be able to get over. The death of their beloved parents affected them a lot since each and every one of them (all the children) were very close to their parents. Their dad taught Rider to strive for excellence. Their mom taught Rose to be as perfect as can be. Their dad also taught Riley to always smile and work hard. "You mustn't let anything take you down, Rose. Just work hard and smile!" Riley told her twin. Those exact words (instead of the name Rose, Riley.) came from Riley's dad to her. They loved their parents so much and they would never rest their case until the justice of their parents was served.
Right then and there, they bumped into someone. And it was someone whom they knew very, extremely well. "Well, hello, hello!"
Stay tuned for the next update~
