Life is a heartbreak

Truth???

         "Well, hello, hello!" The twins turned around and heard John say. "Look, I know you two probably hate me now but I need to tell you guys something that is very important. It's about the death of your parents. Care to listen?" John said while looking them in the eye. The twins looked at each other and discussed privately. They went to a bench and told John to give them a minute. "What if it's a trap? Our lives could be in danger. Or, he might make us believe some really false thing and make us fall for it!!!" Rose whispered, concerned. "I know, but we NEED more information. We have to at least listen to what he has to say. Even if he has a knife. He can't kill us here! He can't kidnap us either. There are many witnesses and this is a public place.
What do you reckon we do? I think we should call Rider secretly and ask for help just in case. You know, for backup. Maybe we can ask him to hide somewhere and come out immediately if John has evil intentions. How bout that?" Riley said. They both agreed and called Rider. He told them to accept and he was 2 minutes away. The twins went back to John and said, "You have 10 minutes." John grinned and started talking. Luckily, Rose used her phone to record EVERYTHING.

           "I know who the killer is. And I promise, it's not me. Did you realise that the policemen did not check if the suspects know each other or not? That was a big mistake. Because I am close friends with Carlo. He told me the other day that he wanted to kill your parents and make sure that he gets profit from it! He was going to take your lives too. Until he became a suspect. He told me he planned to leave the country and run to a tropical island. He was planning to steal from someone there and live in fortune. I know it is hard for you guys to trust me since I am on a very tight position right now. But I need you guys to know that I mean no harm at all! I am just trying to help. I get it, this whole unfortunate event is very hard for you guys to digest. But hear me out. I am not trying to con you or anything like that at all! It's Carlo who is cooking up something nefarious. I need you guys to remember my words and get more evidence so that we can point Carlo out! If I went to tell the judges, policemen and officers that, they'd NEVER help me or believe me. They'd think I'm trying to get out of my tough spot. But I'm not! I saw how you guys suffered and cried. I just want to help. I can assure you guys that I'm not guilty. Please do believe me. I understand that it's hard but think about it. Please. Thank you for your time." The twins's mouths dropped instantly. They exchanged looks and John walked away. Rider took them home.

       When they arrived home, something wasn't right. They played back the recording many times. Something just felt.. amiss. "He's not telling the truth. I know it. And I have a reason." Riley said, sternly. "He said he's close friends with Carlo. But Carlo has NO friends!!" As shocked as they were, it was the complete truth. John was lying to get out of this sticky situation and make them find 'evidence' that it was Carlo who had done such a terrible thing. "But what does he have to gain from this?" Rose asked. "He probably wanted  Carlo dead. But why?" Rider stated. They were utterly clueless. But at least they roughly knew it might be John. They couldn't confirm it yet since John might've just tried to get out of this but it doesn't prove he's the murderer yet. It just proves he wanted to get Carlo dead. We also don't know why he wanted him dead. We don't know many things but at least a bit was discovered about this very unfortunate incident.
