"So the festival is tomorrow night?"

"Yeah! And don't forget the masks we were working on, those are completely necessary and we are working the booth from four to nine." Yuki, your best friend, dictates in a much too serious tone for such a fun event.

Annually, the square outside of the coffee shop hosts a festival, specifically a masquerade festival. You had been looking forward to it for nearly a year now, ever since you started working at The Coffee House. And this year, you had not only helped to create the names and special coffees for the event, but also got to work it, which meant a lot of tips.

You couldn't stop smiling as you listen to Yuki ramble on about all of the issues that were sure to happen and how busy they were going to be, but your eyes and thoughts strayed, your feet carrying you away on the busy sidewalk towards work for the final preparations.

Your mind strays to how much fun the festival will be, mentally running through the list of masquerade style coffees and teas that you had concocted for the event, such as the Foggy Night Latte or Dark Magic Espresso, which were just a London fog tea with a touch of dry ice and a normal espresso with a shot of dark chocolate for some fun.

Coming out of your revery, you notice that you had been staring at a stranger the entire time you had been lost in thought. Heat creeping up your neck and into your ears from embarrassment you look away quickly, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear self-consciously as you still feel his eyes on you, the pin pricks of a light haired stranger.

Entering The Coffee House rather quicker than normal and nearly clashing with Yuki's back in the process as she stops to allow a customer out of the shop, telling them to have a great day as she does. Quickly giving them a smile as well to show your well-wishes for the rest of their day.

Hurrying behind the counter because the two of you are nearly late as it is, you punch in and strap on the apron with the coffee house logo on it for an extra bit of advertising. Stepping up to the second register to relieve the rather peeved looking person that was supposed to be doing their shift closings ten minutes ago with an apologetic smile to begin taking orders of the customers lined up to receive coffees.

With Yuki crafting the coffees, you can still hear her muttered complaints of being ordered to the booth for the following evening, she had wanted to attend with her boyfriend but because she now had to work, she just continuously muttered curses of how much she disliked the festival that she had loved so much the previous year. Trying not to laugh aloud at her most recent colorful language, you turn to the next and last customer in the line for the moment.

"Hello, how may I help- H-hi." You cut yourself off, the red fire returning to your ears as you try not to look away from the young man standing before you, pale skin and light blonde hair complimented beautiful and entrancing pale eyes that you couldn't quite register the color on. The same man that you had been staring at for so long on the way to the coffee shop by pure accident.

Unfazed by your awkward familiarity, he gave a toothy smile, wide and charming to return the greeting with a breathy hello that nearly made your heart stop.

"W-what may I get you today sir?" You murmur, rather quieter than normal as you struggle to act normal in front of the much too attractive man.

"I would love to try your black tea if that's alright." He returns, soft and still with that heart melting smile on his dainty lips.

Only able to nod you input it, lifting your head to tell him the total you find a 20 dollar bill thrust in your direction as he continues with "And keep the change."
