The Almost Perfect Picnic

The entire story is going to be written in POVs, it's really more of what the characters are thinking rather than what's actually happening. Hope you like it!!!

Steven's POV:

Connie had already started college, and on my great adventure to see the world, we both agreed that I would visit her on my way to Empire City. My travels were ending soon, and I wanted to see Connie before I went back to Beach City. I hadn't seen Connie since she started touring colleges almost 2 years ago, but I was thrilled I was gonna be able to see her again! We talk to each other on the phone pretty much every day, but it's more special to be able to see her in person.

I've planned the perfect night for us! A beautiful picnic in the park overlooking a lake. I've got the food, the blanket to sit on, some music to set the mood *wink*, and anything else we might need. Honestly, I'm really nervous about tonight, because tonight is when I profess my love for her!!! Was that too dramatic? *shrugs* Anyway, I can't wait to the look on her face when she sees the nice evening I planned for us.

Connie's POV:

A couple more hours and he'll be here! I'm so excited about our weekend together. Steven said he wanted to plan tonight and that I could plan the rest of our time. It's going to be so much fun! Tomorrow we're going to go to a museum, then out to eat at a fancy restaurant, and I haven't decided yet if tomorrow we're going to watch a movie or play Steven's new favorite video game. But whatever it is it will be something where it's just the two of us. If I'm being honest, I like Steven, like a lot! I think I love him. *blushes* And then the rest of his visit is a surprise, so even you can't know yet.

Steven's POV:

Why are my hands so sweaty? C'mon Universe pull yourself together, everything will be fine. Maybe you'll get lucky and Connie will say that she's madly in love with you too.

This is it. Here's her college. I didn't realize how far of a drive this is, that was almost 5 hours! Ooh! It is a nice looking campus though. I told her I would call when I got here. *phone is ringing*

"Hey, Connie! I'm here!"

"Perfect! Wow, you're punctual. Well, I'll be waiting for you near the welcome center. Do you think you can find it?"

"Yep! I see a sign for it, be there soon."

*hangs up*

Omg, there she is. Gosh, dang it! Why does she look even prettier than I remember?!?!?! Man, this is gonna be hard.

Connie's POV:

"Steven!!!" Was jumping into his arms too much??? Well, I don't care! It was soooooo good to be near him again, he still smells like cinnamon rolls. *smiles*

"How have you been?!?!"

"Awesome! How is college life treating you?"

"Great! So what exactly do you have planned tonight?"

Steven looked like he was going pop like a balloon,

"I want to tell you! But I can't. It's a surprise!"

He practically danced when he talked. He is so cute!

Steven's POV:

After touring the campus for a while, we hopped into the Dondai and headed for the park. I had to hide some of the picnic supplies under a blanket so Connie wouldn't get suspicious. Hehehe! The rest of the picnic is already at the park, the lovely ranger offered to set it up, well actually I had to pay her a lot. This is gonna be soooo goooood!!!!!
