Third-person POV:

Months passed by and the construction on the beach house was almost finished. Greg thought it would be best to add a second bedroom to the house for Steven while he figured out what to do next. Connie was back at college, but she was ending in a few weeks for Christmas break. Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl focused on their teaching jobs at the Little Homeschool. And Steven was busy going back and forth from earth and Homeworld because the diamonds had many questions about Pink.

Overall, life seemed normal again. No one was trying to kill Steven or his family, thankfully. However, Steven knew better than to assume that nothing would ever happen again. The past taught him that anything can happen, and if something bad does happen then he has his family to help him.

Steven was sitting at his new desk in his new bedroom greatly focused on his laptop. Amethyst snuck up behind him and nearly gave him a heart attack.

"Ahh!!! Amethyst! I don't have time for games, I'm kinda busy right now."

Amethyst looked at his screen and saw that Steven was making a panel on Pinpassion.

"What is all that for?" She asked.

Steven closed his laptop in embarrassment, he didn't realize she had seen his screen.

"Nothing!"

"Well, it sure looks like something to me!" Amethyst said smiling.

She grabbed the laptop and opened it back up. On the screen was a bunch of pictures of weddings and proposal ideas.

"Whoa, what's this?"

Steven snatched the laptop away from her and hid it in his drawer.

"I told you! It's nothing!"

Amethyst's face lit up, she knew what it was.

"Steven! Are you going to purpose to Connie again!?"

Steven's face went beet red, he stood there smiling and softly scratching the back of his neck.

"Pfft, what? No! Why... why would I... ok yes. I'm going to purpose to Connie, again. Hopefully this time she'll say yes though. And I know what you're thinking! You're thinking we're still too young, but I'm thinking that we can just have a really long engagement until Connie is done with college. Life just seems too short to wait any longer. Plus! Who knows what could happen to me! The past has already shown us that the future is unpredictable..."

"Whoa, whoa! Slow down, buddy. Take a breath."

"And Amethyst! You have to promise that you won't tell ANYONE! Not a single soul. Ok?"

Amethyst rubbed her chin and thought.

"Amethyst!"

"Ok fine! I won't tell anyone, I promise."

And with that, she left. Steven pulled out his laptop again and continued with what he was doing. He was interrupted again, but this time it was on his phone ringing. He picked it up, saw that it was Connie, and answered it.

"Hey, Connie! What's up?"

"Hey, Steven! So I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to be in the beach city earlier than I thought. I guess the college staff decided to end a little early this year. Anyway, I'll be arriving on Thursday. My parents are going to pick me up, I'll be able to see you on Friday! I'm so excited!"

"Connie, that's awesome! I can't wait!"

"Alright, well I'll talk to you later. I still have a few exams before I leave. Bye!!!"

"Bye!"

Panic set in. Connie was coming a week sooner than he expected. He still hadn't decided how he was going to ask Connie to marry him. He scrambled around his room for a notebook and pen so he could try and organize his thoughts.

Days passed and Steven was busy with getting everything together and ready for the big night. He decided against a picnic this time (since the last couple of picnics ended badly), so instead, he planned a big day around beach city and visiting some of their favorite spots. The day would end on the beach, and hopefully with Connie saying yes.

Steven's alarm clock woke him up at 7:00 am, the big day had finally come. Connie would be coming at noon to spend the rest of the week with Steven.

Beach City had been busy too, Christmas was just around the corner. Lights were hung everywhere, wreaths were placed on every door, and the smell of pine needles and cinnamon spread through the air. Christmas was Steven's favorite holiday because it was the season of joy and togetherness. It was the perfect time of year to purpose to Connie.

Steven set about preparing for the day.

Connie's parents had dropped her off at Funland as he asked them to. She practically ran out of the car and hugged Steven.

"Oh my god!!! I missed you so much!"

Connie kissed him softly. Steven blushed like crazy and said,

"I missed you too!"

Steven helped Connie get her things out of the car. Lion came along to retrieve her bags and bring them to the beach house while they had fun on the roller coasters. Carnival games, cotton candy, bumper cars, and giant stuffed animals ensued, and the two of them had a blast. Next on the agenda came lunch at Fish Stew Pizza. Two big pizzas were ordered, both Connie and Steven said they were hungry enough to eat a horse.

After lunch, Steven showed Connie around Little Homeworld so some of the gems could see her. She probably hugged a million gems that day. The barn was next, and the two of them sat in the grass overlooking the farm. They strolled through the woods for a bit, and then Lion came charging through a warp. They hopped on and were warped to another warp pad, where they were then warped to Homeworld. Once on Homeworld, they helped the diamonds decorate their first Christmas tree (gems have never celebrated Christmas until now). Decorating, hot chocolate, and ugly sweaters, were just some of the things they did on Homeworld. Soon the holiday festivities ended and they warped back home. Connie stepped down from the warp pad in the beach house, she looked down and a pathway of flower petals trailed out the door. She then looked at Steven and saw a faint smirk on his face.

"Steven!? What's all this?"

"Come on! You'll have to find out."

He said, laughing. And taking her by the hand, he led her to the door where he then proceeded to place a blindfold around her eyes.

"Steven! Is this necessary?"

"Of course it is! Come on!"

He slowly led her outside and helped her down the stairs. She felt the sand crunch beneath her feet, and she could hear Steven giggling softly. She smiled and thought to herself,

'He sounds like a little kid.'

They both finally stopped, and Steven slipped the blindfold off of Connie, she smiled wide,

"Steven!"
