I look up at the helicopter hovering over us, bright lights shine down on us and I look back Eiichi who's currently yelling into a phone, switching between English, Japanese, French; almost like a broken record. I only hear two words from him in English that makes me freeze, 'grab her'. The man who had a gun pointed at me put it's back in his pocket and stalks over to me throwing me over his shoulder as he faces Eiichi. My body yells in protest, my ribs digging into his shoulder.
"We're leaving, Daisuke deal with the rest here," Eiichi orders coldly and the man follows walking past his fallen comrades lying in the snow. Immediately gunshots start firing off and you don't have to be a genius to know that Eiichi doesn't want any witnesses left over. They don't walk far before we reach the car I was just in less than thirty minutes ago.
"You just had to give us trouble didn't you Victoria?" he snarls as he opens the driver's door while his subordinate opens the back and throws me inside with me landing awkwardly on the seats. "How did they even find us, fuck!" he yells as he starts the car.
A tiny smile grazes my lips already knowing how they found us. It's all because of a six-year-old boy that has the most amazing memory. It all worked out with him seeing that small portion of my tattoo and since there's the internet, they could translate everything. If it was Jason, there's no way he would remember every single kanji. A small chuckle escapes my mouth and Eiichi whips his head around to glare at me.
"Do you think this is funny?" he shouts.
"Your plan is unravelling and by tonight your base will crumble. That policeman you said I'm so smitten for, I know he's here and there is no way he's letting you drive out of this forest tonight," I chuckle. Right as I say that I hear sirens in the distance, the sound of the helicopter not too far away from us.
"Sir, we can't take her with us, she's a liability and will slow us down," the man beside me tells Eiichi. He's silent for a moment, no doubt thinking of his next move.
"Kane, we're ditching the car," he tells the man. The man -Kane- turns to look at me in question and Eiichi continues. "We're ditching her as well, I already got the rest of the locations when we were on our way here. Tie her up Kane, there's a lake about less than a mile from here. I'm going to drive the car into the lake and Daisuke will be nearby to get us," he tells him as he reaches into the glove apartment and gets some rope. He's going to drive this into a lake? Is he insane? Wait, why am I even asking myself that.
Kane works quickly bounding my hands together and I can feel the panic rising inside of me. If the police don't reach us in time, I'm going to be dead tonight. My breath hitches as the water comes into view, with the moonlight shining it's picturesque and serene and I realize we're on a small cliff. We're less than fifty feet away, twenty, ten, zero.
"A pity things had to end this way, goodbye Victoria," Eiichi tells me in a sinister voice. The car flies in the air for a moment, I watch Eiichi and Kane jump out before it hits the water. The impact of the car hitting the water throws me against the windshield, no sound escapes my lips from the impact. Instantly water starts filling inside as it starts to sink, the freezing water washing over me. I let out a cough when some water enters my mouth, my nose burning as well.
"Jason, if you're out there, please, please reach me," I whisper and a warm tear trails down my cheek. I cried from the beat down earlier but now I'm crying because of fear, because I can see how this will end. I take one last breath as the car is fully submerged in the water, my eyes shut as I hold my breath but I can't hold it for much longer since it's putting a strain on my chest.
My lungs can't take it anymore and I breathe out, my last breath going into the water and now the water fills my mouth. I can feel myself choking, my body slowly starting to weaken, my arms and legs going lax since I can't fight anymore.
