"Uh... Zoey? I can't feel my legs"

"It'll be okay, just stay with me please"
You could hear the panic in her voice and that did nothing to calm you down.

"I am going to die, aren't I?"

"No! Nonono, you aren't going to die, no..." She desperately tried to stop the blood from pouring out of your side.

"You have to go now, they must have heard the shots"

"Shut up, it'll be okay"
She pressed an old shirt against the wound harshly, making you hiss in pain.

"Just stop, I'm not gonna make it"

"Fuck!" Her hands were covered in blood.
"Stay awake!" She slapped you a little too hard, making your head reel to the right.
"Hell, I'm sorry" She had stopped pressing down on the bloodied shirt, taking your hand in one of hers and using the other to rub your cheek to soothe it.
"I'm so sorry"

"It's okay" It was hard to talk, you could feel your windpipe filling with your own blood. You squeezed her hand as hard as you could, but it was almost unnoticeable.
"G-go"

"No" Tears was falling steadily down her cheeks. She was losing you and you both knew. She took a ragged breath.
"They'll pay"

"You pr-omised" You gripped the front of her jacket the best you could with your free hand.
"They didn't-"

"I know love, I know. But I can't just let them get away with this" She gently took your hand from her jacket and pressed a kiss to the palm. You were losing vision faster than before.

"Please, j-just let it go" You dried the tears flowing from her eyes with your thumb.
"Pr-promise me?"

She nodded hesitantly, choking down her sobs.
"I promise my love. For you"

"Thank you" You felt your eyes close slowly, your hand slipping from her face. She gripped it and pressed it to her cheek, not wanting to let go.

She didn't let you go before your body had become cold.
