Wind blow through the air crisp and clean hitting the marble skin of the brunette vampire's as she stood at the window of her room right across from Edward's looking out to the woods with a calculating eye. The gold flickering and observing seeing every detail of the leaves on the trees standing a yard away from her.
In Forks at last.
Her face stoic and blank her eyes remained on the trees. She blocking her mind off from Edward and the rest of the world music softy playing in the background of her room. Then she let her thoughts flow free.
May had a secret that no one knew and it ate at her taunted her and built on her with a nearly crushing guilt. She was sure if she was human still she would have been trembling with the weight of her actions.
While on her visit to go see Aro and his guard all these years ago when she had first been turned she had absorbed a power. This being before she was properly merged with Carlisle's family. She had absorbed one of the kings power to see bonds and destroy them but with her original power she had seemed to merge the power with the bonding when she had gotten it.
May Cullen could destroy and block any bond she wished.
She sighed out an unnecessary breath the sun settling making the lighting of the world a blue color instead of a warm orange in Forks. It was times like this May had felt utterly alone and shrunken into the world small cold and indestructible. It was times like this she longed to be Human still. Completely away from her problems and with a whole set of new ones.
Her longing cut short after the sound of one less mind had unsettled Edward.
His favorite of the Cullen Family wasn't vocal. Panic shuddered through him. His thoughts immediately going to her having left to New York without him . As he scoffed with disbelief at the thought he got off of the small couch in his room quickly reaching her room though soon his panic had subsided having smelt her sent. But as soon as the panic had gone it seemed concern had swooped in. Her mind had only ever gone silent when she wasn't doing well. Edward knew this.
Edward and May were similar in that way both always in a dark mood though both for different reasons.
Edward had made his way to May's room in an instant. His eyes scanned to her bed where she usually laid looked at her star painted celling. Though she wasn't there. His eyes snapped to the window where she sat still. He could feel the air coming through the cracked open slider door. He made his way to stand next to her and act as if they were doing the same thing. Edward Cullen wasn't stupid he had known she wasn't in her usual mood. He quickly swooped her up and put her to his back. Her eyes widened as she squealed. She had been knocked out of her thoughts her mind no longer protected by the stone she had set up.
The gust of wind went through her hair as she felt herself being moved at an intense speed. He had taken her on a piggyback ride. She smiled wide and she laughed loudly.
The rest of the Cullens laughed as they heard May and Edward it seemed this was a natural occurrence for them.
