King knows that there were at least 24 different shades of roses. Each with their own meanings. A rainbow, he learned, shows a spectrum of seven different colors. He knows too that the sky is mostly but not just blue. And that sunsets were one of the most beautiful mixes of hues one can and should see in his lifetime.

And how could he ever get tired of listening to people talking about how great the northern lights were. The famed 'Aurora Borealis'. A breathtaking natural display. He too, he promised, will go see it himself. To bask in the colorful spectacle and experience the awe inspiring scene.

And when he is in this happy mood to think about colors and the places and sights and things and plants and flowers he so wishes to see after adding a thousand other tints to his lonely two-color palette, he wonders when will he meet that one special person destined for him. The promised person who will let him see and not just know that the world is actually full of colors. That there is more to life than just black and white. And how he longed for that moment. To see things in a different way. To open his eyes, not in the literal sense of the word, to all the colors of the world.

And after the excitement has died down, King can feel the familiar ball of anxiety in the pit of his stomach again. The known butterflies said to cause the feeling. With caterpillars and dinosaurs too making him feel a hundred times more. For King knows that simply meeting his significant other is only the beginning. The colors will gradually come with no set pattern or order as they share interactions and conversations and as what his sister said in a much lower voice, feelings and physical connection.

King doesn't need too many explanation on the matter. He may not have been in any romantic relationship before but he knows what those words mean and truthfully, though his face feels unusually warm every time his mind will ponder on those thoughts, he is actually anticipating it with bated breath. He has no experience in dating but he's confident he has already researched enough to cover the basics. So even though it didn't completely calmed his nerves, it was enough to assure King he'll be able to pull it off. With that in mind, King thinks by the time he knows who his soulmate is, then everything will just fall into place. There's just nothing to be so nervous about, is what he always tells himself.

And not too long after, everything started falling. Mostly the books he's holding as King realized what he's seeing. But it's not the falling into places kind of thing he is expecting but more like everything crumbling down and becoming one big pile of mess.

For in the mirror, inside the room provided for the hazing team, just right behind him, he can see one of his nongs staring back at him. His pale white face a sharp contrast to the dark blue shirt of his uniform.
