King was waiting or should he say lurking near the same table where he had always seen Ram studying. It's a Monday and he knows Ram usually comes here in the afternoon after his classes to study. He's mostly alone on Mondays so King decided it's the best time to approach him to talk about them.
'Them' is just like 'they' and 'us' to King these days. They're fastly becoming his favorite pronouns. Specially when it's referring to him and Ram.
After a while of waiting, King saw Ram. His cool boy, walking towards the familiar table, looking serious as always. Like how Ram looked at Bohn before their 'match'. A smile wouldn't hurt A'Ning.
But aside from his usual cold exterior, for some reasons, looking at Ram from where King sits, he feels like Ram's shoulder looked a bit heavy and his usual sure steps lacked the silent confidence in them. King would even go as far as saying he looked lonely. And that it might be because of him made King wince in pain like he just had a paper cut.
When King is sure Ram came alone, he stood up from where he was sitting and slowly approached his nong. He's not yet brave enough to sit beside him so King had to sit from across Ram. Much like the first time he came to know that Ram was his soulmate. He was also at the other side of the table then sitting beside Ting.
At that time, King was explaining a few things to Ting when Duen who was sitting beside Ram asked him a question. While helping Duen, King can see from the corner of his eye that Ram was looking at him. He thought his nong was just being attentive but after a supposed quick glance at his direction, King saw him staring intently at him and if King has initial intentions of pulling away right after, he quickly forgot them. King found himself lost in those doe-brown eyes until it dawned on him that those mesmerizing orbs weren't exactly black.
(A/N: Ram's eyes were blue according to the English translation of the book but I'll use brown here for the purpose of my story and because I can't imagine Ram with blue eyes. ( ^-^"))
Slowly realizing what those brown orbs mean, King felt himself unable to move, his hand dropped the pen he's holding. It suddenly felt too heavy to lift.
Ram must have experienced the same thing for he too looked shocked and the earlier penetrating gaze was replaced with a confused and questioning one.
Awkward is the only thing that can describe what happened afterwards. It still amazes King now to think nobody suspected anything was amiss despite their apparent unease. They must be good actors is what he's been telling himself.
Thinking back, King felt so stupid for even thinking it was Ting. Or more like, forcing himself to think it was Ting. It makes no sense. Ram's eyes held him and even if he's bent on denying it after seeing the brown in Ram's eyes and how they pulled him in, his rapid beating heart won't let him.
And from now on, King won't deny it anymore.
"Ram", King started after sitting for some time. "Let's talk", and Ram only nodded his head.
(A/N: Tall order King. But please try.)
