she chased after the other in a grassy field, where the grass felt soft and warm beneath her feet. they collapsed onto the ground - laughing - trying to catch their breath. with the grass rustling in the gentle wind, she looked up at the clear sky.

the other was next to her; they were barely inches apart. she wanted to reach out and hold her hand. but she hesitated. something felt off.
as much as she liked her, she realised that maybe she liked the version of her she created in her head, even more.

and so, they laid there in silence.
