Abigail's POV:
I heard everything Colleen and whoever that girl, I think it was her sister, said. It hurt. Hell, it killed! It was all my fault. Colleen then walked over crying. Josh gave her a hug. Then they both came over and talked to me.
"I don't have to stay! I'll leave you all alone forever! If it destroys your families then I'll leave!" I said while walking off.
Colleen and Josh ran after me.
"Abi come back!" Josh yelled but I ignored it.
"Abi!" Colleen screamed but you could barely hear her because she was crying. I ran down the cliff and into the woods. I kept running. I felt tired so I lied down. I woke up to people screaming my name but no one could see me. I then saw Josh and Colleen talking to police. I ran back up the hill but the police stopped me. Colleen and Josh ran up to me and gave me a hug. Then another car pulled up and a woman with a child ran up to us.
"We have a ride! Now can we go?" Asked Josh.
"Um? Yeah sure!" Said the policeman.
"Come on Abi!" Colleen screamed as she made her way to the car.
"I'm not going with them!" I told the police officer while walking into the other direction.
"Would you like us to drive you to where they are going?" He asked.
"No because they're about to adopt me!" I screamed.
"You don't want them to adopt you?" Asked the police officer looking confused.
"Well-I mean-oh I don't know!" I screamed. I just broke down. I curled up into a ball and started rocking back and forth. Why me? Why did this happen to me? Why not someone else. I heard my phone ringing in my pocket. I looked at it and it was Hayley. I decided to pick up.
"Omg I didn't think you would pick up!" She said. I didn't respond.
"Abs, are you there? Wait why are there police sirens? Explain!" She screamed with a concerned tone in her voice.
I told her everything.
"But don't worry, I'll sort it out" I said and then hung up.
I saw Colleen jump out of the car and come over.
"Abi. That girl I was talking to was my sister, Rachel. She is kind of overprotective and she doesn't take everything the right way! I want you to be my kid. No matter what she says" Colleen said.
I gave her a hug and we walked to the car.
"Oh yeah, Abi. The girl in the car is one of my friends Teeny and the little boy is her son Jackson" she said. I nodded and got in the car.
