"Can I talk to you?" I say to Lea. "Yeah, sure," she says and follows me out of the cafe.
"What's wrong?" I ask her. "Brooklyn has been seeing other people. It makes me feel like I'm not enough for her and that's why she's cheating. If she doesn't like me, why won't she just leave me? Why doesn't she break up with me, Maya?" she says.
Fuck. She's gonna cry. "Hey hey hey. You're more than enough. Anyone would be lucky to have you. She's dumb," I say to her.
"Yeah. She is," Lea laughs. Now this girl right here is a psychopath. One minute she wants to cry and the next she laughing.
"I love you," I say to her and hug her. "I love you. I'll see you later," she says and heads back to the cafe. Now I have to go write a poem.

Before I knew it, Fortune was sitting on my bed and we were arguing about what I should wear. "Fine, I'll wear a stupid dress," I say and pout. I decided to wear the dress with heels to look more formal.
"You look amazing," she says and places a kiss on my neck. "Take the underwear off," she says. "Baby," I say and laugh.
"Off," she demands and I take it off. "Good girl," she smiled. "Now, let's go. We're gonna be late," she adds.
The time read 17:57 when we walked into the hall. Our friends were sitting on a huge table in the corner. They all looked formal and elegant in their outfits.
"You look pretty," Mpumi said to me and I smiled. "So who actually wrote a poem for someone?" Lesedi asked.
Mpumi and I raised our hands and she nodded. "Who did you write for?" she asked. "Uhm... I'd rather not say," Mpumi said. "Yeah, me too," I smile.
Fortune takes my hand into hers and walks us to two seats. "Why didn't you tell them that we're dating?" she asked me. "Why didn't you tell them?" I ask her.
"Welcome my fellow pupils and professors. My name is Lebogang Mokoena. Today, we're gathered her to..." Lebo said and I zoned out.

After a few people of reading their cheesy poems, it was time for Mpumi. She wore black tailored jeans with a black hemp and a black blazer. I wanna get her naked now.
She pulled out her phone and read:
Your smile brightens up my day
I don't really have much to say.
This may sound cheesy
But life with you is just so easy.
My feelings for you will never fade
And I am afraid.
She stopped to take a breathe and slid her phone into her pocket. Her eyes met mine and she said, "I'm scared of losing you to another. I'm uhm..."
"I don't even know what I'm saying," she chuckled. "I jus- I love you, okay? And I always will," she said and walked off the stage.
Applause filled my ears and a tear fell from my eye. What if she wasn't even speaking to me?
"I need to go," I say to Fortune and get up and leave. I run to my dorm, wear jeans and a hoodie and take my keys.
"What's going on?" Mpumi asked me after I locked the dorm door. "I uhm... I forgot that I need to meet someone," I say.
"You're lying," she says. "Who was your poem for?" I ask. "Why does it matter?" she asks. "Never mind. Bye, Mpumi," I say and walk away.
"It was about you. I'm in love with you, Maya," she said and I kept on walking. I can't deal with this right now.
I got into my car and drove to the petrol station. My heart feels heavy and I know exactly what calms me down when I'm sad.
I park my car and walk into the store. "Hey. Can I get a razor blade?" I ask the lady with her back towards me.
Great. It just had to be Aphelele. "Uhm... yeah sure," she says and hands it to me after I pay for it.
"Hey uhm... can you do me a favor?" she ask me. "Yes. What's going on?" I ask. "My boyfriend is caught up at work. Could you take me home? I knock off in about ten minutes," she says and I nod.
"I'm parked right by the entrance," I smile and she smiles back.
I walk out of the store and look at the blades. I can't do this. I throw them into the bin and get into my car.
