Bokuto's P.O.V. 7:00 am
I woke up early today, which, by the way, never happens.
When I walked down to see my mother cooking I couldn't help but smile. She's been single ever since my dad passed away. Yet she continues to smile brightly, even if she's actually hurting, sometimes it scares me. That's why I do my best to make her proud, I'd do anything for my mom.
"Morning, mom." I yawn and give her a soft smile.
"How in the world! Wha- did you stay up all night or something?" She jumped a little when she heard my voice.
"Heh, no, I just woke up a minute ago..." I look over to see a pile of dishes in the sink. I give a small hum and make my way over to the sink to wash the dirty dishes.
"You don't have to do that, Ko..."
"I don't have to, but I want to help you. You rarely have time for yourself." I say as I continue to wash the dishes.
"Thank you, you're such a good kid... How did I ever get so lucky?" She pinched my cheek and continued making breakfast.
Haruto was the first up between the two twins. Those two were always close, and I am close to them too. I used to sneak into my parent's room at night just to see the twins, they fascinated me. When they were old enough to leave the room and sleep somewhere else, I had asked my mom if they could spend the night with me. I had a blast. They were so adorable, and they still are.
Soon enough Himari came down and sat by her brother at the table.
"Are you two planning on coming with me to take some offerings to dad? It's the anniversary of his death." I ask the twins as they wait for breakfast.
"No, we can't... Our teacher is having us present a project today and she isn't very lenient, it's half our grade so we need it to pass." Himari replied as I finished up the dishes.
"Oh okay, then do you have anything to give him? I can give it to him for you guys." I sat down at the table in front of Haruto.
"Yeah, we will bring it down after breakfast." She wrapped up our conversation just as mom put the food on the table.
"Alright, let's dish up our plates and say our thanks." We did as mom said and ate our breakfast. It wasn't anything special, it was just rice with an egg on top and some toast.
25 minutes later
We had all finished up our food so the twins headed upstairs. After mom and I were done cleaning up the dishes I sat on the couch while she made bento boxes for Akaashi, Kuroo, and the twins. At this point, it was her normal routine, and it didn't take much time for her to adjust to making food for Akaashi too.
"You work today, right?" I asked.
"Yup, looks like you're on your own this year, sorry Ko'..." She said with a sad tone in her voice.
"Nah, it's okay. I'll be fine, do you have anything you want me to give him?"
"If you could stop by the flower shop and get some white camellia's on your way there? There is some money in my purse that I save for them." She said as she arranged the food into a neat manner inside the bento she was working on, "Would you like a bento too, or are you good?"
"Okay, and no thank you, I'm fine." I got up and went to her purse to grab the money for the flowers.
Just a few minutes later and the twins come downstairs, Rice-Ball follows behind Haruto. Haruto walks up to me and hands me a box full of small meaningful trinkets, "This is the stuff we want to give to dad." He said, shyly.
