Chapter 15 | A Game of Tease

I couldn't point my finger on the vibe between us right now. I mean, the atmosphere was calm; okay in general. Sure, we talked this morning. He asked me what his schedule for the day was, as usual. Asked me how I liked my coffee. But other than that, we didn't exchange any words about yesterday.

Maybe he's giving me space.

I'm seated on the desk diagonal to his with Cas beside me. He's showing me the work that needed to be accomplished for the oncoming days. He kept going on and on about how much had piled up from the last weekend.

Normally, I'd be all ears to Cas. He's serious and dedicated to his job. So Lord tell me why can't I concentrate? I keep finding myself sneaking peaks at Dean a few too many times already.

He isn't just cocky smirks and mischievous looks, is he? I know there's a lot more to him. He made me believe so since yesterday.

He looks up from his papers and I jump out of my skin when he meets my eyes. Oh god. Was I staring?

Stupid, stupid, stupid Ro. I quickly look down, pretending to scan through the binders Cas was passing onto me. Oh, yes. Interesting binders. They have splendid colours of black. They are binders.

"Blaze, are you even listening to me?" Cas squints at me and scratches the back of his neck.

"Yeah, Cas!"

"I hope so. We have a lot to do this week."

"Got it." I reach over my desk for the telephone when I glance up to see Dean staring at me. As he sees that I noticed his eyes on me, he quickly slaps a bundle of papers to his face, looses balance, and falls off his chair with a loud crash.

I gasp and rush to him. "Dean! Shoot, are you okay?"

He's groaning, rubbing his face as I help him up. I hear Cas heaving a sigh, muttering something along the lines of, "Are you kidding me?"

"Dean, are you okay?"

Dean's eyes gape to me and he quickly snaps up to his feet. "Yep! Dandy."

As he awkwardly stretches his neck and shakes his feet off like nothing happened, I muffle a laugh. Someone add 'clumsiness' to the list! I never knew he could be so suave and at the same time, have two left feet only.

He clears his throat and settles on his chair. "Caaaas! I'm bored."

"Good." Cas replies gruffly. He slams a pile of paperwork on his desk. "If you're so bored, you can finish this work."

Dean makes a face, "Wait, why are there so many?"

Cas' eye twitch. "Glad you asked. Someone decided we'd go to a trip on a whim last weekend."

"Aw. Cas, get out of my ass."

"I was never in your—ugh."

"Still, that's too much. I think I'm in the mood to play."

I cross my arms over my chest and looked at Dean. "Why don't you listen to Cas for once?"
