She knew it immediately. He wasn't used to people being nice to him, nor was he used to people touching him with no ill intentions. It made her stomach curble at the thought and she wanted to do nothimg more but hug him and tell him it would be alright, that he had her now. But she refrained herself as she silently watched professor Snape flinch slightly when she took his hand. He looked at his hand and then back at her in a rather quizzical manner, as if he was surprised that she wanted to help him, or even touch him.
Feeling a small pressure on her hand, she saw that he had covered her hands (that were covering one of his) and gave it a small squeeze. Her skin tingled from where he was touching her and she could feel a blush emerging from her cheeks. Sometimes she cursed her fair complexion, because no matter how hard she tried not to be seen blushing, it was always futile. Her skin was just too fair for her to actually hide the red splotches on her cheeks. Of course, he father had to tell her that she looked adorable and cute blushing, and the thought alone made her blush even more - but she was kind of grateful for professor Snape to actually speak just as she started to blush. It hid that she had different thoughts from what he thought she was thinking about. And now she didn't make any sense anymore.
"No one's ever done that for me before and likely never will," he had said in a soft voice. She blinked up at him in surprise. Did he really open up a little bit and let her know what was inside of him? She realized that, yes he just did, and it made her feel all warm inside. Perhaps she did have a chance of being nice to her professor. He had looked back to the vial in his hand and after a few seconds asked her,
"So, all I have to do is drink it?"
She nodded and clasped her professor's hand with a bit more force as she tried to think of the words that she had to use in explaining a few more titbits to him. She hadn't really expected him to say no to the potions, but it still made her feel happy that he did say yes. She took a small breath and started explaining,
"But I'd sit down before you drink it first, sir. The muscles and nerves will relax very much and I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself by falling on the floor because your muscles wouldn't work for a few seconds. It might also be a little uncomfotable, as in you'll probably feel like a jelly-legs jinx was cast upon you, just that it's over your whole body. But it shall pass quickly."
