Chapter 11

THE MUSIC

SKY

"And this is the Stable. This where the guards horses are being taken care of, and this Black mustang here is the Queen's horse." Shahara said pointing the black horse.

"He is very big. Is he hard to control?" Sky asked as she tilt her head to the side examining the large horse.

"Yes. Only the Queen could ride him." The two of them started to walk inside again.

"How long have you been in here?"
She asked.

"Hmmm...i was here since i was 13...i think i've been in here for almost 17 years." Shahara said.

"Wow, you've been in here for so long. Are you allowed to go outside the castle?" Shahara shakes her head no.

"Hello there!" The two of them stops walking when someone greeted them. It was Lysandra.

"What are you two doing?" Before Sky could reply. Shahara interfered.

"We are going to the Queen's office. She is asking for our presence there. Now please if you could excuse us. We are in a hurry." Shahara then grabs Sky's hand and drag her out of the place.

"Why did you lie?" Sky asked Shahara when they are far from Lysandra.

"The queen's sister is someone you shouldn't be acquainted with. She's a bad news." Shahara answered. The two of them stops. Shahara then faced Sky

"Promise we you won't go near her." When Shahara said that, Sky could see strong emotion from her, she looked worried.

"I pro-" she stopped mid sentence when she heard something. She looked at the door next to them.

"Sky? Is everything alright?" Shahara asked with a worried tone.

"What's in there. I heard music." She asked pointing the large oak door that was painted with red and has some flowers on it.

"Oh, that? It's the music room. Do you wanna see it?" Sky nodded. Shahara opened the door for them and the entered. The room was filled with instruments and in the center of it, stands the golden grand piano. Sky felt thrilled.

"Do you know how to play?" Shahara asked as she follow Sky towards the grand piano.

"Yes... Madam Juanita would often ask me to play for her." Sky stared at Shahara and pointed the piano.

"Can i?" Shahara nodded, no one is forbidden in this room. But no one had actualy played with the instrument for so long. But she heard maid talking that... There was a child here that used to play with the piano.

The golden grand piano was majestic.  It has some flower carving on it and few gemstones could be seen. Sky started playing. At first it was just a simple do,re,mi until she really started playing. The melody was so soothing. It even echod around the room.

"Who taught you?" Shahara asked as she watched Sky play with it like some Master. The way her hand moves if filled with grace.

"I was taught by Nimpha at the breeding house. And when i was sold, Madam Juanita took over to teaching me. She even taught me how to play violin and cello." Sky said as she continued to play.

She played and Shahara was enthralled. The music was so good...But it is also sad. She looked at Sky who was so lost into playing.

She then held Sky's hand to stop her from playing that sad music. She have heard many people play music, but not as moving as Sky. It's as if she's pouring her every emotion into it.

"Your music is so Sad. Why don't you play something happy?" She asked. Sky smiled at her.

"Wait a minute." Sky then change the tempo... They couldn't help but giggled. Their feet started moving with the music. And Shahara felt like Dancing with it.

"That's so good." She said. Watching Sky's face brighten. Her fingers played with the keys as if she knew it like the back of her hand. When the music stops they both laugh.

"That was good." The two of them stands up when Regent Catherine came in clapping her hand.

"I didn't know that a wolf could be gifted with a wonderful talent." Catherine said looking at them, but her eyes is more focused on Sky.

"Shahara, could you leave us alone for a while?" Shahara gave Sky a worried glance before she bowed and walk away from them.

"Who thought you how to play piano?" Sky's gaze was focused on the floor, the atmosphere of the room suddenly went cold.

"Madam Juanita and Nimpha thought." Sky felt Catherine move and then she heard the piano playing.

"Is she your former Mistress?"

"Yes."

"Do you like her." Sky went silent. No one had question her before if she liked Madam Juanita. Now that she heard it she actually got to think of it.

"I...i don't know." The music stoped and Sky could feel Catherine's presence behind her. And then she felt her hand on her shoulder, slowly running down. Sky couldn't help but shiver.

"Did you know that i like cinammon buns." Sky shudder when she felt Catherine's breath just behind her ears.

"Wolves often smells like dirt and rain. I hate their scent it makes my nose itch." Sky gulped when she felt Catherine's grip on her tighten.

"But you....you are different. You smell like vanilla....with cinammons." After Catherine said that, she licked Sky's ear making Sky moan.

Embarassed at the sound she had made, Sky covered her ears and then took a step away from Catherine who was smirking.

"My,my,! You have a very sensitive ears." Catherine took a slow step getting closer to Sky.

"I wonder if your blood tastes like your scent." Sky didn't know what to do. Should she run? But if she did that Catherine will surely punish her, but she don't want to feel the pain of being bitten again. Catherine saw Sky's hesitation and fear and pleased her.

"But you know i can wait." She said, she saw how relived Sky was. She then gently caressed her face. Soft, Sky's skin is soft and smooth. Catherine then smirk. Sky is now her new favorite gem stone. And she'll work hard to smoothen that gem stone, to carve it and make it perfect.

"Now pet, come with me." She said walking ahead. Sky followed her like a good puppy. They walk in the direction of the east wing of the castle. As soon as they step into it Sky was shock by what she saw.

That place is hell, the smell of sweat, blood and urine mixes in the air. Werewolves where working, some of them carries a cart with large stone on it. Some were tied to the wall and the guards were wipping them, Sky saw how there Skin were torn by the harsh whimping, even Children were being punished, they were working with the adults.

Sky looked at them closely....

No hope. No faith. Nothing, their eyes were empty. Tired, broken and helpless. It made her heart ache so much, she felt pity for them, for what they had to go through. But what really caught her attention is the collar around their neck. Those collar are infused with magic. It prevent them from shifting. Sky bit her lower lip to stop herself from whimpering.

"Pet." Her gaze then went to Catherine. She's standing there unbothered , Sky took a step forward and she once again followed Catherine, she looked at everyone's face. All of them seems to be unbothered by the pain.

"Please! I'm sorry!" Sky went still when she saw a child desperately covering his body from the guards whip. She saw how pain painted his expression, she saw those tears and she saw how desperate he is for the man to stop. Sky is very familliar with the whip, she knows what it feels as it tore your skin apart, her sister and her often suffered from it. So when the guard raised his hand again Sky's instinct kick in, she didn't think twice as she move towards the kid to help him.
