twelve.
"Thank you for your hard work~" Everyone exchange greeting as they head out, aside from you who remained quiet while preparing your stuffs.
You were just about to head first when a hand grabbed your arm. You turned around to see Mina.
You quickly spun at her direction. "W-Why? Is there something else I need to do?"
Mina shook her head while letting go of you. "Y/N-ah, don't stress about Mr. Tan."
Your expression dropped while looking at her. You took a deep breath and smiled reassuringly, saying unsure words you yourself wouldn't believe. "Of course, he won't bother me. Just because he's in a higher place doesn't mean I will be scared."
Well, you surely will think about this until you fall asleep.
"That's a relief," Mina looked up at you and patted your shoulder comfortingly. "I'll see you in the eliminations tomorrow."
You almost forgot about it. "Y-Yes, yes, see you around."
You really wouldn't want to waste this opportunity just because of a jerk.
Not too mention that you ace all the elimination. You are either in the first, second or third place and Mina was always the happiest.
It's not like it's important. It's just elimination after all, not yet the official ones.
To be honest, you didn't expect yourself to do well. First of all, like you always mentioned, journalism isn't originally your thing.
Besides, it's the last elimination tomorrow. They will do it after lunch which is a relief for you since you won't have to wake up early.
The moon lit up the dark roads perfectly. Today seems like a rest day for everyone that's why at this early hour, only a few cars passes by already. Except highways where vehicles remain busy all day.
You took small steps while releasing a deep sigh. The cold wind were supposed to calm you down but it didn't. It was filled with things that make you anxious in every possible way.
Since there are no cars around, you can easily hear your own footsteps. But something is odd.
Another pair of footsteps can be heard behind you.
You quickly spun around only to see an empty path. You titled your head in a questioning manner and just went on your way despite the disturbing sound of the tapping shoes behind you. You were in the middle of your thoughts about Mr. Tan when you noticed your shoelace not being properly tied. You grumbled shortly then bent down to do it, causing you obviously to stop.
And so did the steps behind you.
You froze on your spot while your fingers refused to move on their own. It feels as if your thumb are the ones that went tangled instead of the laces.
You took a deep breath and looked around hastily in order to catch whoever that person is, but you failed.
Nervousness shoot upon you when your phone buzzed. Your hands begin ton tremble in fear that it was once again the Unknown Number.
But gladly, it wasn't.
