Even though weeks had passed since my helping Oliver Queen stay out of prison I couldn't deny the impact that night left me. The heavy reminder of not only who I was, but who a part of me still desired to be. Regardless of those dark desires I pushed them all aside as I reminded myself of the life I had now, with Roy and what I was beginning to have with Daniel.
Thankfully my phone rang snapping me out of my thoughts, a small smile forming on my lips as I read who it was. "Roy."
"Doll Face, just calling to see what you wanted from dinner tonight." He replied the sound of heavy machinery from the body shop in the background.
"How about... Mexican?"
"You've read my mind." Roy said and I could practically see him smiling on the other side, and before I could reply my office door opened. Revealing a confident Oliver Queen, the sight of him instantly putting me back on edge.
"Roy I'll call you back." I said softly as I placed my phone down, admittedly shocked to see Oliver.
"Diane I need your help." He declared as he closed the door behind him, like him being here was the most casual thing in the world
I looked away from him and refocused my attention back to my work, still holding a degree of resentment for the position he placed me in just a couple of weeks ago. "And like I told you four weeks ago I am no longer going to give it."
"I'm having trouble with another archer." He stated as he took a seat across from me, his words causing me to look up immediately before I remembered the news from last week about the woman they named The Huntress.
"Do you mean that woman who you were working with last weak? I questioned dismissively uninterested with whatever it was he had to say about her.
"You know about Helena?"
"I didn't know her name." I replied pointedly in turn earning a look of disbelief from Oliver who seemed irritated at himself for accidentally revealing that bit of information. "Only that she used a crossbow and was extremely sloppy and lacked discipline."
"She wasn't that bad." Oliver immediately defended and I automatically rolled my eyes understanding why.
"You slept with her?" I questioned although it was more of a statement as all the signs were clear from his reaction to my words. Though his reaction caused a smile to tug at my lips. "Very unprofessional."
"I'm not here to talk about Helena." He stated firmly as he leaned back casually in his chair. His body language now telling me that whatever it was, he was here for a serious manner. "I'm here to talk about Adam Hunt."
I once agin felt a flash of anger and irritation at Oliver for talking about the man the he had just murdered so easily. Without any sense of remorse of guilt. "The man you murdered. Yes, I saw it on the news."
"I didn't kill Adam Hunt, I had already crossed his name off my list once he returned the money back to the people in The Glades." Oliver quickly defended his anger surprising, as I realized that he was telling the truth. Then as the implications of his words began to set in I felt a small sense of fear that there was something much bigger happening. That Oliver wouldn't be in my office now if it didn't worry him too.
