RIEUL

Jimin narrows his eyes at the driver. His eyes turn up to me in a hidden look, and I smile at him, showing that everything was really alright.

"Jungkook, stay with Jimin, alright?" I say, tapping the top of his head.

"I'll be back soon."

"W-Where's Noona going?" I hear Jungkook whisper worriedly to Jimin, who gives me another look. But he trusts me when I roll my eyes, smiling.

I'm fine. No kidnapping.

"Probably to get some car toys for you."
He whispers back, and I smile softly in relief as Jungkook's eyes widen in excitement. And then he even waves at me, looking all happy.

"Bye, Noona!"

Waving back at him, I slide back into the car.

My phone buzzes in my pocket.

Jiminie: If anything goes wrong, call me right away.

My heart warms as I lean back on the seat, sending him a heart. And then I tap the driver, who's still driving almost as fast as we'd gotten to the school.

"Uh— you can slow down now."

"Not when Mr. Kim is waiting." He hisses back, eyes straight forward in concentration. "I might even get fired. Two stops— damn, I'm actually going to get fired."

"Don't worry." I say, tucking my phone back. "I'll make sure to tell him not to do that. That it wasn't your fault."

But he still gets us there in record time, car skidding into the front of a large silver building.

Tinted glass makes up almost all of the walls.

"This way. Quick." He urges, and I quickly hop down from the car. Then I follow him to a door on the opposite side— neatly hidden with the same color as the walls.

"Why can't we just go through the front?"

But he doesn't hear me, and I'm about to ask again when a familiar voice cuts me off.

I'll never get used to it.

"Miss Jeon. You're late."

"You're fired." He says to the driver, and I instantly raise my voice.

"No. It's my fault— I had to get my brother. I wouldn't have even come in the first place if it wasn't for him." I say, and Taehyung laughs coldly.

"That doesn't change the fact that he was late."

I narrow my eyes, watching the driver shift nervously between his feet.

"Taehyung-ssi. If you fire him, I'm leaving."

His eyes are now iced over with anger, and I bite my lip when he makes a sound deep inside his throat. Then he hisses at the driver to leave, and I let a small breath escape my lips.

At least not fired.

But then as soon as the man disappears from sight, he approaches me until I'm forced to look down at the ground.

His gaze is like fiery gold, his feet only inches from mine.

"You can't even look me in the eyes, Miss Jeon."
