Like a heroic knight, you swooped us off our feet
Waving your hands in a friendly disposition
While promising words too good to be true
No sign of artifice, you swore to serve us
Be the shield against those who try to destroy us
Straighten the flawed system, toxic to its own
Nurture our potentialities to build a great nation
And most especially, adhere to the needs and demands of the people
But a taste of true power made you forget your promises
Like a disease, your hunger for control and dominance spread
to a point of oppression of the very people
you swore to serve and protect
Bothered by our cries and clamor,
You cut our tongues off
Tied our hands and chained our feet
Threatening to apprehend
those who so much as hiss
Labelling anybody a terrorist as you please
when in fact, you are the true and greatest terrorist
Infiltrating our soil with your vile greed and immorality
You took our right to freely speak
Most especially our crucial criticisms
To which when gone, seizes the opportunity
for our nation to truly progress
You may have taken our voice
But it only made us louder
We do not fear you
Because we know we are stronger than you
We are the nation itself
And you should be afraid
No silencing will ever muffle our devout hearts
Beating for freedom, justice
and unwavering love for our country
