The time Hongjoong had spent with Seonghwa and San, but mainly Seonghwa felt like a dream. He got to see what Seonghwa was like when he was younger and this time, even if he had altered the timeline in a way that Seonghwa would never like him in that way again Hongjoong didn't care.
"That last move was really cool I can't believe you almost kicked that girl in the face though." Hongjoong giggled.
"Seonghwa I wanna try it too!" Seojun tapped his hand.
"Sure, San help me." He crossed his arms around Seojun and San did the same as he held onto Seonghwa's hands.
"Okay 1, 2, 3!" The two boys counted in unison before flipping the younger.
"That was fun!" Seojun was laughing maniacally as children usually do.
"Joong try it." He pestered. Hongjoong looked over to Seonghwa who was motioning for him to come over.
"I don't know..."
"I won't drop you Hongjoong, just try it." Seonghwa attempted to persuade the other.
"Okay fine." Hongjoong have in with a deep breath before let the two wrap their arms around him for the flip.
"1, 2, 3!" In a few seconds he was flipped and he tried to gain his balance and grabbed onto Seonghwa's arm in the process. Due to his change in clothing the red bracelet really stood out this time.
"Cool bracelet where'd you get it?" Seonghwa questioned.
"Y- someone important gave it to me." Hongjoong almost slipped up. Again.
"Like your girlfriend or something?" There was a hint of jealousy in Seonghwa's voice and he didn't understand why.
"Ah no, a friend of mine that I was close with once." Hongjoong pressed his lips into a line.
"Where's your friend?" San asked.
"Well it's kinda complicated. Something happened and he doesn't remember that were friends."
"So he has amnesia?" San's face contorted into confusion.
"In a way, yes." Hongjoong shrugged.
"I hope he remembers you eventually." San patted the others shoulder.
"Me too," Hongjoong glanced over to Seonghwa.
"Well this is my place, I'll try to return the clothes to you tomorrow Seonghwa." Hongjoong waved.
"You're good, return them when you can."
"Byyye!" San waved as upbeat as ever. The two began walking off and San decided to stare at Seonghwa with the most eerie smile.
"What?"
"So Hongjoong huh?" San smiled with a cocked eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" Seonghwa shoved his hands into his pockets.
"Nothing, I just think you're going to replace me with him." San jokingly pouted.
"Whatever," Seonghwa rolled his eyes with a laugh.
"Hongjoong seems cool...I think we'll all be really good friends."
---
A week had passed and Seonghwa was not catching on anytime soon despite having this constant nagging feeling when Hongjoong was around.
"Maybe you like him?" San shrugged.
"Like him? San I have a girlfriend." Seonghwa countered.
"Yeah that sounded reeaal believable Hwa." San side eyed the other.
"Hey Seonghwa, hey San." Hongjoong greeted the two at the entrance.
"Hey Joong," San returned and Seonghwa waved.
"I was wondering if you two wanted to hang out this weekend if you guys weren't busy?"
"Yeah sure, I know a spot." Seonghwa spoke.
"You guys can hang out without me, unfortunately I have to visit my Aunt." San pouted and kissed away his freedom in a comical manner.
"Looks like it'll be just you and me." Seonghwa smiled.
"You and who?" His girlfriend appeared from nowhere and wrapped her arm around his.
"Hongjoong and-" He couldn't even finish his sentence before getting cut off again.
"Do you think you can run to the vending machine before class starts im parched. Also for lunch we're going to the convenience store with my friend and her boyfriend." She began to ramble as she often did and San wasn't sitting around for it.
"C'mon Hongjoong,"
It was a little disheartening to see Seonghwa coupled up especially with someone like that girl. Hongjoong had to remind himself that deep down in Seonghwa's heart was a true place for him and he just had to drag it out.
