not a date

The next day

I wake up to my alarm.

"Ughhh let it stopp" Nick groans. I giggle. "Babe I gotta get up. You need to let go of me" I say. Nick's grip only gets thighter. "What if I don't want to?" "Baby, please" "ughhhh okay"

His arm slides of my chest and he rolls onto his back. I kiss his cheek before getting up and walking into the bathroom. I wash my face and brush my teeth before doing my make up. Nothing to much just a little bit.

I walk back out to the closet picking my outfit》

I walk back into the bathroom to change.

When I'm ready I give Nick a kiss and grab my phone.

"Do you really have to go? You can still stay if you want to" he says. "Nick, I said I would go with him. I can't not go now" I say. "I'll spend every second of our vacation with you after this okay?" "Ughh fine"

I smile and kiss him one last time before leaving the room.

I walk to the lobby and sit down in a seat since Mason isn't here yet. I grab my phone and scroll through tiktok.

"You ready?" I jump up a little from the sudden touch on my shoulder. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" he chuckles. "It's okay" i say getting up. "Come on otherwise we miss it"

Mason walks away to the doors. I put my phone away and quickly run after him. We get to the parkinglot an he opens the door to the car for me.

"Thanks" I say. He smiles and nods before closing the door and walking to his side of the car.

He starts the motor and drives. I look out of the window while the music is softly playing in the back.

"Ok we're here" Mason says stopping the car.

We get out of the car.

"Where are we?" I ask looking around.

There is only a small street with no cars.

"Come on this way" mason says walking into the bushes.

I walk after him. After a minute the bushes stop and we arrive at this beautiful empty beach. I look around with my mouth right open.

"Pretty right? And we can see the turtles from here without scaring them away"

Mason sits down on a big rock. I sit down next to him and try to find a turtle.

"I can't see any turtles" I say.

"Right there" Mason says pointing somewhere.

And indeed there are a lot of turtles. You can sometimes even see one stick there head above the water. It's beautiful.

"So for how long are you here?" "Probably like 2 weeks. You?" "I have one left. We've been here for one week already" "who is we?" "Me and my friends. You can meet them if you want" "I'm sure I'll see them at the hotel sometime" "true"

Me and Mason have more small talk to get to know each other. Then after a while we decide to get back to the car.

"I swear to god my hair is gonna stick to one of these bushes" I say keeping my head low. Mason laughs.

And just as I said my hair gets stuck.

"Ughh I can't get it" i groan. "Here let me help" mason says.

He gets my hair out of the bush.

"Done" "thanks" he smiles and we start walking again.

We arrive at the car and just as I did before we got here I just look out of the window.

I notice Mason missing the turn.

"Where are we going?" I ask sitting up straight.

"We're gonna get something to eat" he says.

He makes a turn into a chick-fil-a drive in.

"Hi welcome to chick-fil-a. How can I help you?" A woman voice sounds through the speaker.

Mason orders his food.

"Two times please" he finishes.

I look at him confused. He just smiles.

"Was that all?" The woman asks.

"Yes that's all"

"Ok then you can drive to the first window" "ok thanks"

Mason drives. "Why didn't you let me order my own food?" I ask. "Because you need to try this. I promise it's the best" he says.

I roll my eyes and look outside. Mason pays and the man at the other window gives us our food. Mason parks the car in the parking lot.

I open the bag and hand him his food. He looks at me with big eyes.

"What?" "Try it"

I put the food in my mouth. I really thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal but Mason was right it was really good.

"Wow" "i know right"

He takes a bite of his.

After eating Mason drives us back to the hotel. We walk into the lobby. I get a text from Charli saying they are at the pool.

"Well I had fun. Thanks for the food" i say. "No problem. Maybe we'll do it again" Mason says. "Maybe" "bye" "bye"

I walk to the elevator and push the button. I look at Mason one last time. He is talking to a girl. I laugh and roll my eyes before stepping into the elevator.

I open the door to our room. Nick is sitting on the bed on his phone.

"Hey, why aren't you at the pool like the others?" I ask. "I just wanted to be here when you got back. So how did it go?" "It was fun. We looked at turtles and then grabbed som chick-fil-a" "and you are sure it wasn't a date?" "Positive"

He smiles. "Come here" he waves me over.

I walk towards him and sit down on the bed infront of him. He lays his hand on my cheek. He looks me in the eyes before smiling and kissing me.
