Chapter 31: Preparations

Dream's POV

I stood up and pulled him into a fierce hug. "Wait, you don't think we're moving a bit fast?" I looked at him.

He placed a comforting hand on my cheek, smiling. "Dream, we're not getting married. Sure, it's like a marriage of some sort but it's really just like a love test."

"A love test?"

"Yeah. It's a test with your significant other to know if they're really the one or not. There are also normal weddings in the tribe, but a couple can only be wed if they passed five Lovers' Binding ceremonies." He explained.

I grinned at him, impressed. "Where'd you learn that?"

He trailed his hand down to my hand, lacing his fingers around mine. "Chatting with twins really paid off."

"Besides, if you start to lose interest in me, you can just wait for a year and a day and everything will be okay." He added.

I shook my head, chuckling. "I doubt that I will lose interest in you. Just don't lose interest in me."

"I won't." He smiled, his cheeks pigmented with a beautiful shade of pink. "Let's finish our date and head back to the others."

"Okay, love."

George's POV

After our fun date, my first ever real date, we headed back to the cottage, hand in hand.

If we were not in the island, we would've been getting a few weirded and disgusted looks thrown at us.

But surprisingly, the village, the tribe, were smiling and beaming as we passed by. Just like how they look at any other couple. They are all so wholesome that it makes me wish all people are this kind.

We passed by the meadow and saw the villagers working together; making platforms, huts, benches, flower posts, lanterns and more.

It's nice to see such a connected and cooperating community. Master Markus really led them well.

Two familiar figures were helping set up the main platform, they noticed us and waved. The one with the light blonde hair ran over to us, clapping excitedly.

"I heard you both are gonna join tomorrow's ceremony?" Fannie asked, beaming as Dom sauntered up to us.

"Seriously though, where do you get this information?" Dream asked back.

Dream asked me to the ceremony just fifteen minutes ago and we were in a secluded part of the woods, how in the world did these two know? News just spreads like wildfire for them.

"Did you spy on us again?" I crossed my arms, raising an eyebrow.

Dom quickly shook his head and his hands. "No, no. We were helping set up the ceremony."

"Someone told us." Fannie said, pursing her lips in mischief.

"Fannie don't tell th--" Dom tried to tell his sister but she already opened her mouth and pointed at a shook man who was trying to peacefully mind his own business.

"It was him!" She said.

We all turned towards where she pointed and saw a stunned A6d.

"A6d!?" Both of us gasped in unison.

A6d jogged towards us, running a hand through his hair in disbelief. "I..I can explain."

"Please do." I said, facepalming.

"I was foraging for some fruits and I heard familiar voices in the distance. Had to know who it was because maybe it could be Bad. But it was both of you and I couldn't help but..overhear." He explained, rubbing the back of his neck.

"And you thought it was a good idea to tell the twins?" Dream asked.

A single bead of sweat trickled down A6d's forehead. "I only told Dom, I assure you. It's his fault he told Fannie."

"Fannie. Threatened. Me." Dom groaned.

"Okay okay, we get it. It's okay, we were just gonna tell you anyways." I said, sighing, a tired smile on my face. "Thanks anyways, we're excited."

"I can tell." A6d smiled warmly at us. "You wanna help with the preperations?"

"Sure, do you want help with that platform?" Dream asked.

"Yeah, we could use a hand at painting it." Fannie replied, beckoning us over to the platform that was already built. Just a new coat of paint, a couple of lanterns and decorations, it's gonna be fabulous.

"I'll pass with the paint. Perhaps you need help with the food preperations?" I asked. It's time to teach these people how to cook George style. But it also wouldn't hurt to learn a thing or two from them.

"Actually, yeah. Go to that cottage over there." A6d pointed to a cottage, its chimney puffing out huge amounts of smoke.

"See ya, Dream." I kissed him on the cheek and let go of his hand, walking towards the cottage A6d pointed.

"See you later, George." He bid me goodbye, smiling and headed towards the twins who were starting to paint.

Morning came rushing in and we couldn't get any more excited.

Yesterday was also such a blast. First, Dream and I had our first date together. Second, I got asked to go to the Lovers' Binding. And last but not the least, I helped cook and prepare the food with the villagers and learned so much about their food culture.

We finished early yesterday since everyone helped with the constructing, the planning, designing and decorating.

Dream and the twins were helping with the platform and the aisle. A6d and Sapnap prepped the horses and embellished them with cute little flower crowns and stylish handmade saddles. While I helped with the food courses.

The villagers taught me how to cook soft pork and chicken steamed buns, caramelized apples, boiled corn cobs with melted cheese and their secret spices and many more in Tribe style.

I also helped them bake a humongous cake that was taller and bigger than I am. It had different flavours in each layer; chocolate, strawberry, red velvet, vanilla, blueberry, lemon, orange, banana, cinnamon, cheese, apple, and cherry. It's really for a whole village.

We decorated the gigantic cake also with different flavoured icing and toppings, forming hearts and flowers with the icing.

If only I could see the other colours, I'm sure it's much more beautiful than what I see.

???'s POV

One day left. I will finally complete my project. Seven years, it's how long it took for me to almost finally reach success. Seven years of nonstop hard work, day and night. Wasting my blood, sweat and tears for it.

It's my only hope to change my life. Not only mine but also everyone else's.

They all misunderstood me. They all think I'm power hungry, just someone who wants money and control all over the world for my own amusement. But that's not the case.

I'm doing this for myself, for people who were like me before and...especially, for him.
