"Tenko! Tenko! Guess what!" Hana shouted excitedly.

"Hmm?" I hummed as I continued to read the book in my hand.

"Dad said that I can go to my school dance! I'm so excited!" Hana jumped up and down excitedly waving her hands around.

"Oh wow! That's awesome Hana. Who are you going with?" I asked with a bright smile on my face.

"Just someone special." She hummed.

Hana was older than me so she was a grade above me. She's always been sweet to me. We barely ever get into fights.

In all honesty, I looked up to her. She always seemed to laugh a little bit louder and smile a little bit longer. I wanted to feel that happiness too.

I wanted to be happy.

Just like her.

Pain...

Coldness...

Emptiness...

My head throbbed with pain. All I could see was black.

It was so cold... so very cold. Pain filled my body. Every part of me felt as though it was on fire.

Slowly, consciousness began to come back to me. A bright light shined down on my face making it hard to open my eyes, but I managed. I opened them.

Part of me wishes I didn't.

A bright light hung above my head. The room smelt like a doctors office. An odd smell but somehow a pleasant one.

I weakly glanced around the room I was in. I was laying on a large metal table. Kind of like an operating table. Something that surgeons used.

Am I dead?

I began trying to remember what all happened.

W-Who... am I?

Suddenly, I heard a door swing open. I quickly looked over to where I heard it and a tall brunette man who looked like a doctor walked in. He had a black mouth mask covering his mouth and nose.

"Ah, you're finally awake. For a second I thought I was gonna lose you." He then gave me a friendly smile before grabbing a chair and sliding it closer to the metal table I laid on.

"W-Where...-"

"First before anything, I want to help you get relaxed. Your body isn't really in the best condition at the moment." The brunette spoke.

He then stopped his movement, looking deep into my eyes.

"How... pretty." He spoke softly.

A shiver ran down my spine as I looked into his golden eyes. He noticed how uncomfortable I looked and quickly backed away from me, grabbing a bottle of some liquid.

I wanted to ask him what it was but I didn't get the chance to before he quickly poured some into a rag and grabbed my arm, quickly putting it down on it.

Pain immediately shot through my entire body as I let out a agony filled yelp. I tried to pull my arm away from him, but it just caused his hold on my arm to become tighter making the liquid soak more into my flesh.

He glanced up at my pain filled expression. Tears threatened to fall from my eyes as I looked back at him fearfully.

"Oh dear..." He mumbled quickly taking the rag off of my arm.

A relieved sigh escaped my mouth as I began to relax. My heart was still racing in my chest but at least the pain was... well was almost all gone. My legs still hurt like hell.

I then felt the brunette man cup my face gently wiping my tears away with his thumb. A shaky breath escaped my mouth as I stared fearfully at him.

"Oh dear... please don't cry. I forgot that it was so painful... I'm sorry for that, Tenko."

Tenko? It sounds... familiar.

He noticed my confused look after he said that name.

"Oh, you don't remember, do you? Tenko Shimura. That's your name." The brunette spoke softly.

"T-Tenko... Shimura..." I mumbled.

The brunette gently ruffled my hair before slowly grabbing a piece and bringing it closer so he could get a better look at it.

"Gosh, your hairs a mess..." He mumbled.

"You're going to need a bath tonight... why, what kind of doctor would I be if I let you live like..." He let out a small sigh stopping himself from continuing the sentence.

"I'll go get you some shampoo and body wash." The brunette spoke as he walked towards the door.

"Don't try to move, Tenko. You're legs and arms are in bad condition. You might end up hurting yourself." The brunette spoke before exiting the room, leaving me there... alone.
