"The White City, Flevance, was destroyed. In the end, at the hands of humans."
North Blue -Flevance
Giant Townhouse
The huge building was divided into three sections- hospital wards, laboratory, and the academy. Almost all of the building surrounding the giant house are additional ward patients who are already in the process of recovery. The World Government funded the recreation of the place three years after they called a buster call to destroy all the evidence of the past. Currently, the entire country is ruled by a world noble under Shalria Roswald - who's greatly favored by her father and decided to buy Flevance as a gift to her. Not covered in pure white and elegance, the Flevance changed their design to a high walled country with advance technology running the all over the country. With the help of Dr. Vegapunk, it's a place where people no longer have to walk due to the presence of escalators and elevators everywhere. They also developed flying transportation in order to save time. Patients from coming from the whole world are being tended in the country causing everyone to be busy.
Hospital Reception
"Do we even have time to blink?!", the short mint green-haired lady wearing a short white coat. With dark circles under her emerald eyes, it just shows how busy they have been. Because of a great war in the Marine ford, soldiers are being transported in their hospital.
"Thank you for your hard work, Dr. Cari", the receptionists gave a huge smile and invited her for a cup of coffee.
"Cari Myer is one of the main doctor's daughter. I bet she'll be taking the same path as her father", the staff started to whisper at each other- hidden from the lady's sight. "As of this time, she's an intern for 3 years before becoming a full-pledged doctor. She's just 19. What a promising life", they envied her.
"Cari, have you finished preparing for the blood transfusion?", a flat toned voice from someone.
The hospital staff who were taking a break stiffened and went back to work as soon as they saw the long amber haired lady with hazel eyes.
"Give me a rest, Adira. I haven't slept for 24 hours", she leaned on the reception table.
"Here comes another super newbie, her internship was shortened in one year", they adored her from the shadows.
"We can hear you. Go back to work. Don't drink too much coffee. You'd be increasing the dosage of your caffeine tolerance", she advised and passed by. "As shy as ever", Cari slightly chuckled and stretched preparing for another round of monitoring.
Hospital Corridor
Cari and Adira walked next to each other. "Adira, have you seen your father lately?", Cari asked.
Adira wrote on her monitoring sheet while walking. "Have you?", Adira returned the question. Cari had a short laugh. "I guess you haven't also", Cari sighed.
"Adira, I might die", Cari said with a hint of pain. "Are your insomnia kicking again?", Adira stopped writing. "I haven't seen any hot patients these days. My eyes are craving!", Cari clung into her arm. "Go die then", Adira commented right away. "That's not a good joke. You're a doctor, Adira~", Cari continued to complain.
A man wearing a long coat passed in front of them. He's rather old to be working in a hectic scheduled place. "Head doctor", the two stood properly and bowed at the same time.
"Oh, it's the duo. The internship team had always been working well thanks to you", Dr.Moore smiled at the two. The two had an obvious sense of fulfillment in their expression. It's a statement coming from the Head himself. He went inside a private room and the two continued making their rounds.
"I'll see you later, then", Cari waved her hand as she went into the opposite section.
Children's Center, it says.
Private Room- 206
"I heard Cari and Adira outside", a middle aged woman lied down on the hospital bed.
"Eh~ compared to us. They're still supplied with ample amount of strength", Dr. Moore sat in front of the woman. "I'm glad I was able to mentor them before I leave", she said with a faint voice. "They both have their own strength. Once we're gone, we can be assured that the future is bright", Dr. Moore had a weak smile.
"Dr. Fenette, all you works for those two child will not be wasted", Dr. Moore held unto the weak woman's hand.
Children's Ward
"Yosh! Did everyone drink their medicine?", Cari wore a huge mushroom hat. "Ah, today, you're wearing a mushroom", the children gathered around her.
"Okay now. Sit down. I'll be discussing about good mushroom and bad mushroom. Letty had a huge stomachache due to eating a wild mushroom", Cari was referring to the giant child. Children from all around the world are cramped in one place making it a hot pot for different races to spend time together.
The caregivers watched the group having fun.
"Wah~ she's spending her break times to visit these children", they both turned teary and emotional.
"I'm surprised she could still visit this place after that incident", one of them commented.
Soldier's Ward
"Thank you for your hard work, as always", the nurses stationed in the area are grateful for having an exceptional intern assigned in their area.
"Oh~ Miss Doctor, I am having pain in my lower leg".
"Angel. Please take care of my wound".
"Wahhh~ I'm so fortunate to be placed in a ward with a beautiful doctor".
"Over excitement might open your wounds. Keep still", she said calmly.
"Kyah! Calm and collected as always", the older patients cheered.
"They're as rowdy as ever", someone near Adira commented. It's a young marine solider with a huge cut on his chest. Adira went close to him and checked his wound. "Mr. Poland, when was the last time you ate the medicine prescribed for you?", the brown haired lady had a scary look on her eyes. "It was bitter. I don't want it", Poland complained. "That bitter medicine will stop the spread of infection in your wound. Would you like to have your skin peeled off someday", Adira made it sound scary. "I'll drink it now!", Poland surrendered.
Night Time
Cafeteria
"I fear that you'll die even before you even become a real doctor", Cari walked towards a table where books are spread.
"Then, how are the children?", Adira asked without looking at her. She's already accustomed with the sound of her voice. "Well, some of them will be discharged tomorrow. I'd be helping in accompanying them at the dock", Cari informed. The other lady raised her head showing that Cari's words were unexpected for her to hear. "You'll be going to the dock?", Adira clarified. "Uhm. One of the children have phobia on water. I'll be giving her a shot of tranquilizer before she boards into the ship", Cari explained.
"Do your best, then", Adira went back in reading.
"I hope I could also ask you to come but that would be impossible, right?", Cari sat in front of her and silently eat her dinner.
Chapter end.
