"Where you goin'?" I asked. I had barely woke up, even though it was about to be one in the afternoon. I didn't know when Bree got back last night.  No matter how much I blew her up, it wasn't up to me anymore.

She was putting some things in her bag when I rolled out of bed. "Where were you last night?"

She didn't reply but kept doing what she was doing. Lately, she had been going out more and I was seeing less of her. I would wait up for her to come back, but ultimately I would just fall asleep. I'd call, I'd text. None of that worked because I guess she was still mad at me, for whatever it was that I did.  She would always tell me that she was fine and that nothing was the problem. But I knew that wasn't the case.

"Bree."

"Brielle." That government name made her look at me. She looked annoyed more than anything.

"I was with a friend," she said blandly. She went back to doing what she was doing, completely ignoring my presence. "Who?"

"Doesn't matter."

Bree wasn't no cheater, so my mind didn't go there. I didn't allow it to, anyway. She was better than me, and ultimately she was the one who got me out of that business. No way she would turn around and do it to me.

I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. I could see her resisting the urge to smile. "You know you ain't gotta be mad at me," I mumbled in her ear. She tried to push me away and grabbed her keys. "I'll see you later," she said, jetting out the door.

Something was going on with her and I needed to find out.

My phone buzzed right when I hopped in the car. Kaiden and Shawn texted me to ask where I was, and I let them know I was on my way. It had been a long time since we had did anything together, but I understood that we were all busy people with lives to lead.

I started heading in the direction of Shawn and Neisha place, ready to get my mind off of all things Bree. If she wanted to be mad, I would give her the space she needed. I'm tired of begging her to forgive me for shit I don't even know I'm doing wrong.

I parked in the driveway and pulled out the bottle of Henny I brought as a gift. Neisha opened the door for me and I scooped her up in a hug. She was looking so much better, and I could tell she felt better too. Though it took her a long time to get back to her normal life, I'm glad things were going well. That's one thing Sai was good at: making people feel better.

I knew Shawn still wasn't messing with Sai but he would come around. He was one of her oldest friends, so I understood why he was mad. If they were as close as he thought, then she would have at least said something before leaving. But I feel like we should all just move on. She did it, and there's nothing else we can do about that.

Maybe I only felt that way because I was trying to build something with her again.

Our encounter last week made me miss her. I begged to take her ass to get something to eat and she brought her little girl. I knew it was some other nigga's kid and I know she's probably moved on. But shit, I can't help but think that maybe that could be us.
