CHAPTER 41: Animalistic Instinct
She smiles at me, at my suggestion, only to place her head over my heart with a shy smile, something I have never had the privilege to see, I roll my lips in to hide the powering urge to laugh at her gorgeously beautiful antics. Shyness did not come often, if ever with the girl who stole my heart in just fifteen minutes of me seeing her for the first time. I rub her back, pulling our arms in and closing my eyes, whilst dropping a kiss on her temple, her small frame falls into me. I take the lead, caressing her close as we slow to a sway under the colossally glistening chandeliers, that couldn't compare any ounce of beauty, to the one in my arms.
During dinner, I close Poppy into my chest as we eat, she turns to me slowly when I've gestured to the waiter to place one of the Black Forest chocolate cakes in front of Poppy and I. She rubs my chest in thanks as Hideyoshi explains animatedly with a few other business clients I believe.
Poppy sits up when she sees it, already taking a bite, I raise a comical eyebrow, she turns to me, "I don't think you realise just how much I like this particular flavour and style of cake." She whispers, looking up at me, I smile, lowering my head and pecking her lips, receiving the slight aftertaste of the chocolate.
I lean my forehead on hers, "It's quite rich." I murmur, she giggles lightly, before gesturing to open my mouth as she holds a piece on the fork in front of me, the same form, which I smile wider at, opening my mouth.
Sensually, she slides it on my tongue, I close my lips as she pulls out and I watch her all the while she does this, ignoring the others raised eyebrows, hidden laughs and utterly incredulous looks. Poppy and I were being so openly intimate, they had no clue as to how to comment or whether to comment at all.
I let out a delicate moan, licking my lips, "I see what you mean." I whisper to her. She gives me a knowing look, before turning back to the cake, slicing another piece. Both of her legs were over my thigh and she crossed them, allowing me to see the slit in her dress.
I roll my eyes, she sips on her water when I see she's finished the cake and raises her glass in 'cheers' over to Hideyoshi who smiles at her, knowingly. I place my hand on her calf then, taking a calming breath as I rub my thumb into her skin, tracing the bone there. When she leans back into me with her head on my shoulder, I curl my arm over her shoulders, softly placing my lips on her hairline and staying there.
"How long will we be here for, before flying back to London?" Ivan asks either Poppy or I, I rub her arm when she curls it under my jacket for warmth.
"It'll be tomorrow." She says softly, sighing into my chest. Ivan nods delicately, looking at her and I, I keep my eyes down on Poppy, as he takes a gulp of the wine in front of him before excusing himself as he takes upstairs, back to the rooms. Everdeen and Ryan were on the dance floor, but Rosa-belle and Andrew saw him leave in a hurry. I purse my lips, sighing in annoyance and defeat and anger.
