CHAPTER 11: Thief...You Stole My Heart, Parker
The day was collated with worrisome messages left on a certain blonde's cell, Thursday afternoon, after another two hours of monotonic learning before I finally jog over to catch up with the rest of the group for lunch, I walk towards the couches in the cafeteria corner now as I see a concerned Andrew crafting a comforting arm around Rosa-belle's shoulder as I see she's on the phone
"Poppy, you're freaking us out a little bit, the Ball is going to be tomorrow and we haven't heard from you for at least a few days now." Rosa-belles voice cracks slightly on the phone as she ends the call, shaking her head at Diana.
Diana, sick of all the bullshit, grabs the phone roughly and dials the number once again, "Alright, you're really pissing us off now. Either call back or we're going to call Aunt Jenny to find out what the hell is going on, you haven't answered any of our text messages and I know you're family isn't going on another holiday. The Ball is tomorrow and the Royals were wondering if we would all like to share a limo, besides Maximus is getting really anxious-" I'd suggested in renting the limousine when I hear the rest of the sentence and I leap towards Diana with heightened worry and blushing red humiliation even though the person I care about the most still isn't here, I interrupt her,
"-DON'T TELL HER THAT! She'll never-" she stops me with her own growl when the phone is tipped from her hands at my sudden appearance and she shoots up in her spot like an aggressive female Titan.
"Shut up, Maximus. If it persuades her to pick up the damn phone, I'll do just about anything at this point!" She points a file finger at me, swiping back her phone as Trevor sighs, massaging his temple.
"You need to calm down, Diana." He says, a serious tone within the depths of his voice and she ultimately sighs, slumping back down in the pillows with an angry whine escaping her lips.
"I worked so hard in making this ball spotless and she can't even pick up a bloody phone call. This is pathetic, Trev!" She stuffs the phone into the seat cushions, her eyes filled with fiery rage at these turn of 'no' events.
I scoff out loud, welcome to the freaking club.
She glares at me, a look that strictly says to 'back-the-hell-off'. Her first!
The minutes turn to hours and I find myself walking in to the next day, anticipation in my nerves and electrical explosions in my ears as each step I take to class becomes heavier with urgency.
The bell for interval rings when I felt like my breathing would crush me from its overpowering rapidness of each second, I glance towards the school mirror in the men's bathroom. Practicing my star-ward expression, I take a long sigh, trying to calm my over-excessive heart rate as Ivan slams a hand on my shoulder, calling it a supportive gesture when really it makes me want to smash his head into the reflective glass in front of me.
