Once Skye is once again asleep somewhat peacefully, Cara decides to sleep over. Once the couple get in bed together, they just start talking. They aren't the type of couple who are extremely sex crazed. Most of their relationship is based entirely around emotions and romance. When they were in secondary school, they used to be grossed out by hearing their friends brag about what they would be doing every night. They even individually went through periods of time where they thought they were asexual, but they realised they were just being mature in not being sex crazed.
As a result, they've always been able to sleep in the same bed without the thought coming to mind. Tonight especially, it's been the last thing on their minds.
"Hey, Sammy?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think you could testify at the courts next week?"
Sam sits up and raises an eyebrow. "Why? I mean, I will, but I don't know what I'd have to contribute besides the fact that I'm going to marry that lunatics daughter who happens to be drop dead gorgeous."
Cara rolls her eyes and lets out a chuckle. "No, you do. My father mentioned the incident with you and the mother in Aldi a few months ago. 22 other victims came forward, which is great because theres no way this evidence won't be enough to convict her."
"But there's no evidence with me. No footage, DNA, all that shit?"
"I mean, I think she knows shes caught out now. She's already confessed to 2 molestations and the Zoe girls rape."
Sam's mouth widens. "Seriously? She confessed that easily?"
"Let's be real. Prison, a place where you have food served up to you and beatings go on there? It's my mothers paradise, bet she cant wait to get there."
"What if she gets the death penalty though?"
"I'm finding it hard to believe we're in heaven!" Cara sings off key, making Sam burst out laughing.
"So, basically, she doesn't mind possibly being labelled a sex offender for life?"
"Nope. Shes having the time of her life going down, I'd say. I suppose that's what happens when you're a hollow shell who's only holding onto made up ideals of a religion you never believed in to begin with."
