The sounds of skin being cut open.

Over.

And over

And over

And over again.

Blood dripping from the razor sharp blade.

Small smears of blood on the floor.

The almost silent sobs of a young girl in distress.

The cries from a girl who thought that she was NOTHING.

(Y/N)'s POV

I let out quiet hisses as the blade tore my skin. I had previously sharpened my small dagger so, it was really easy to slice open my skin. And I had to be careful not to cut too deep.

I cut. Over and over and over and over and over again. My arms were becoming bloody messes.

There were little smears of blood on the floor and blood was dripping onto my legs.

This young, 17 year old human girl,...was NOTHING. Nothing but a waste....

At least, in my eyes, she was.

I heard footsteps approaching my door in the Boar Hat Inn.

I got up and quickly rushed to turn on the shower.

I grabbed a towel and closed the bathroom door, locking it.

I waited nervously behind the bathroom door as I heard the bedroom door open.

"(Y/N)?"

A few thoughts of Escanor suddenly entered my mind as I stood still, listening as King called my name.

'Escanor...'

I felt my chest beginning to throb in pain. The man filling my thoughts was in love with Merlin.

'It's selfish of me to wish that he'd see me like I see him. He loves Merlin. And who knows. Maybe Merlin loves him back. I don't deserve Escanor. I'm nothing but a selfish brat...'

A few silent tears fell from my eyes as I cleaned up the blood, especially on my dagger, and undressed, stepping into the shower.

I just stood under the running hot water as I heard King approach the bathroom door.

"(Y/N)? Are you in there?"

I didn't reply but I wrung out my hair, making a loud splashing noise in the shower.

I heard him mutter something but I couldn't hear him over the water.

"We hadn't seen you at all today and not very much yesterday either. If it's okay, once you're done, Captain would like to speak to you."
