Meliodas' POV

"So...You want us to go take care of the Barbarians who are attacking a nearby village...It's Monali, right?"

"Correct. It's a small village who have been close friends with the kingdom since before His Majesty was even born."

"Oh, wow. I bet they're nice people if they're friends of His Majesty and the Royal Family!"

"They're distant relatives of the Royal Family. And these barbarians have been causing a lot of trouble for them. However, keep in mind that these barbaric people have the strength almost equal to a Holy Knight."

"Alright~...Sounds good to me! That means I'll get to knock some heads together."

Ban was still the same as he always was. Buuut~, hey. He's my buddy and I know how he feels sometimes. After all, there hadn't anything all that interesting happening lately.

"Oh. And one more thing."

"Hmm?"

"I've heard rumors that they've been taking some of the townsfolk hostage, including the King's great niece, Mary."

"Alright. We'll look into it."

And with that, we were on our way to the Village of Monali.

—About A Day And A Half Later—

"Huh. So this is Monali...It's a lot nicer than I thought it'd be."

"Of course you would say that, Ban."

"The Village of Monali has been close friends with The Kingdom of Liones for generations. They're actually the people who supply the kingdom with a lot of their salt and sugar since it's right next to a river bay."

"Ah. I see."

"It's so quiet..."

"Yeah...A little too quiet, if you ask me."

We walked into the town and we could see people peering out to see us from inside their homes.

We stumbled upon a house larger than the others and decided to check it out.

I knocked on the door.

"Hello? We're Holy Knights sent from Liones. Is anyone in there?"

The door suddenly opened and were were looked at, then ushered in.

"For the past few weeks, these barbarians have been coming and taking some of our women and children. The townsfolk are too scared to even leave their homes."

"You got any idea where they're hiding out?"

"Yes. We've seen them going deep into the mountains. But that's all we know."
