Just a thought I've been having more and more lately.

What would it be like to run away? To be free? To live without fear or regret?

My parents aren't terrible. They don't hate or abuse me or anything.

But they are so different from me that I might as well not be a part of their family.

They always taught me to stand up and fight for what I believe in.

That is until my beliefs became different from theirs.

If you ever get a tattoo, I'll disown you.

You have to get straight A's or I'll pull you out of public school.

No, you're not taking a gap year.

You're going to college.

But what about me?

I'm being shown how to live my own goddam life.

So here's to the kids like me.

The ones who are forced to live a life different than the one they dream about.

If you want to ride a motorcycle,

Do it.

If you want to smoke or do drugs

Do it.

If you want to skip school

Do it.

If you want to run away and go live in the mountains below the stars.

I'll come with you.

Be free

Be you.

You only get one shot at this particular life. Make it a good one.
