Chapter 3: At school

  "Hisa, you're the oldest, remember?" Marina reassured as she kept reading, unaware that Mayu is watching her in the apartment. "Everybody calls a girl their "Big Sister"." She continued speaking as she flipped the page.

"That girl is known for her solving mystery thing. I have to find out how that girl is doing in another house." Mayu thought as she left the apartment and went outside where a woman is coming home from shopping.

"Where are your parents, kid?" The woman asked.

"I don't have parents, ma'am. Sorry." Mayu replied as she continued and went to Tamayo's house in 6 chome 18. She looked up as she listened to someone exercising. It looked like that she's having a workout. The china doll went inside as she observed Tamayo exercising in front of the TV, wearing a sleeveless white shirt and purple pants.

"95, 96, 97, 98, 99...and finally 100." Tamayo lifted the barbell as she took a breath and wiped the sweat from her head with a towel. "What a workout." She said to herself as she picked up two dumbbells and started to exercise with it.

"Gosh. I never saw a schoolgirl exercising."

"1,2,3,4,5."

"Bada-bing! She's the athletic one!" Mayu said to herself as she quickly has hid herself without being noticed. Then, The young girl went to 6 chome 26 where Kira is living. She watched her brushing her hair as she talked to herself.

"Better not to worry about Marina, Kira. She's crazy." She said to her reflection in her mirror.

Later, Mayu went to 6 chome 25 where the Chigusa family is also living. Instead of going inside she looked up where Azumi is reading a book, like Marina. "Look at her, she's reading," She said as she watched her through the binoculars. She went to the Aochi residence and observed Hisa talking to Fusako in the phone.

"Wow, Fusako, really? Ah, of course I did the homework that I planned today!" She stated as she laughed softly.

"And this is where I came. Seeing those girls talking to each other. Why I need to be worried about that? Because they can be good girls. Tomorrow morning, they'll see me and they won't reject me anymore!" Mayu thought as she returned to the apartment and watched Marina's house in the other side. She yawned as she pulled out an sleeping bag, a pillow and a alarm clock from a bag. Mayu removed her shoes and used the bag to zip it up before falling asleep.

The following morning, Mayu's alarm clock rang and rang like crazy before being turned it off by its owner. She yawned as she got up and watched the Fukuhara residence in the other side of the street. "Oh my stars, It's morning," Mayu was surprised as she has put her stuff in the bag and went outside. But she noticed Marina stepping out of her home and quickly hid herself on a pole. The orange-haired girl stared at the pole in a moment, wondering that someone have come. But shrugged as she went her way to school.

In Asuka High School, Mayu is hiding in a fence, seeing the school building. "Asuka High School. School with pool, students, students, pool. This place looks like a mansion." She said to herself. Inside, Marina, Hisa, Azumi and Tamayo are in the classroom. They saw Kira looking at her nails and Fusako's empty chair and wondered where she is.

"Something's not good around here," Marina remarked.

"What is it?" Hisa asked.

"Fusako was supposed to show up today. What happened to her?"

"I think she was transferred to another school." Kira claimed as she smirked. Marina glared at her as she looked around and went to the window where she looked for Fusako.

Where's she?" She asked as she saw someone coming to school. "She's here."

Mayu is inside the school, observing it with fascination and amazement. She saw two schoolgirls talking to each other before staring at her. "Hi! How're you guys doing?"

"How about a day to pull your hair out, eh?" The schoolgirl claimed menacingly, scaring her.

Mayu was intimidated as she gulped shyly before greeting two schoolboys. But was ignored as a result. The doll noticed Marina leaving the classroom to look for Fusako. She straightened her bow tie and frantically went outside, only to see nothing except for some passing people. Marina quietly closed the door behind her as Mayu quickly has hid herself in the girls' restroom. She began to wash her hands, pretending that she got her hands dirty.

"Take it easy, Take it easy..." She said to herself as Marina listened from the corridor. "Don't worry, Mayu. You need to be careful."

"Fusako? Is that you?" Marina asked quietly, thinking that Fusako is there. "Is that all right?"

"I remember that orange-haired girl living in the neighborhood with her friends. She didn't saw me after all." Mayu narrated.
