He looked at me, his eyes looking into mine "because I love you".
I froze. "I love you Jingfei" he said it louder. "I LOVE YOU JINGFEI" he shouted into the night sky. I started laughing and shushed him. He then pulled me into a tight hug. "I love you too" I said softly into his chest.
The prince's pov:
I wanted to go for a walk in the garden. I had a lot of thoughts. The main one was about Jingfei. I felt bad for what happened and angry at the same time. I was angry at Huang he grabbed her from me.
I was walking when I heard someone shout. I looked around and saw Huang and Jingfei stand in the balcony. Suddenly Huang hugs Jingfei. I got even more angry at Huang. How can he do that, I like her too....

I woke up and Huang was beside me. "Hey, wake up, get out what if someone comes in" I pushed him. He sat up. "Okay, I'll leave" he said half asleep and walked out. I got dressed and cleaned up the place before leaving. I walked back to the maid quarters. Ying greeted me and took me to eat breakfast in the kitchen. "How is your head" she asked. "It's good the pain went away" I answered. "That's good" she drank some tea. "I should get going the prince probably wants me back" I said. "Yes, go on" she replied.
I knocked on his door and entered. "Your majesty, I'm back I can assist you again" I bowed. "That's good" he was writing something at his table. "Do you need anything" I spoke again. "No, you can leave" he said and I left. Like always I waited outside of his room. I saw Huang smiling at me and of course I smiled back. Suddenly the emperor's maid ran in and said that the king want's everyone to gather in the big hall. I told the prince and we walked there. The emperor stood up from his throne. "I gathered everyone here because I have something to announce" he spoke out. "After a lot of thought, I decided to step down and crown prince Taiyang as emperor" he surprised us all and chatter could be heard from everyone. The prince got on his knees and thanked the emperor. "I will still be in the palace and help prince Taiyang" he continued.
The next day the prince got crowned as emperor Taiyang and I now became the emperor's maid. That night the emperor went to bed. "Maid Jingfei, come in" he said. "Yes" I said. "Make me some tea, it has been an eventful day, I can't seem to fall asleep" he sat up and said. "Yes, right away" I walked to the kitchen and started brewing his tea. "Why did the emperor step down, what made him do that?" I kept thinking. "Oh look who's here, it's the emperor's maid" Sunyi teased. "Hey, stop it" I smiled. "Brewing tea for his majesty?" she questioned. "Yes" I simply replied. "It's done, I'm leaving now" I walked out.
I entered the emperor's room. "Here is your tea, your majesty" I gave it to him. I was about to leave when he stopped me. "Stay, read me a book until I fall asleep" he said. I took a random book from the shelf and sat down at the table and started reading. Soon the emperor fell asleep and I walked out. I walked to the maid quarters and into my room. I laid down and thought how fast the day went by. The one thought that always visits me at night is how are my grandparents doing. I really miss them and I want to see them so much. They probably think I died just like my family. Soon I fell asleep.
A maid came into my room. "Jingfei, emperor Taiyang want's everyone gathered in the big hall" she told me. I quickly got up and got ready. Everyone gathered in the big hall. The emperor was sitting on his throne. He suddenly spoke "I would like to announce that I want to get married". Chatter filled the room. One of the court officials spoke "with who your majesty". "Gather the prettiest princess" he said and left the room. I went back to my room. "Ying, did you hear the emperor want's to get married" I sat down. "Yes I heard, everyone did" she sat down beside me. "I wonder who it would be" I wondered.
A week passed and it was the day when all the princesses will gather. I was in the garden with Sunyi watering the flowers because the emperor finally let me. Suddenly a lot of maids approached me. They bowed and one of them said "His majesty has ordered us to make you pretty". "Mhm? What do you mean" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "Please follow us" they started walking and I followed with a confused expression. They walked into a room with lots of makeup and beautiful dresses. I stepped in and was seated on a chair. They started doing my make up and then my hair.

Lastly they showed me and few dresses and I got to pick which one I liked best. I picked a blue dress.

As they were dressing me I asked "why do I need a lot of maids, three would be enough for hair, make-up and clothes". "Miss, we are your maids" she answered. "What!?!? What is this for" I shouted a bit too loudly. "You're going to be one of the His Majesty's brides" she smiled.
