CHAPTER XI: An Unwanted Excitement

There are two things that Jael hates; Mondays and mornings. His reason is simple. He have to wake up earlier than usual because Monday is when they have flag raising ceremony. He has to come to school 30 minutes earlier for him not to be late. Weird enough, that day, he woke up pretty early so he got to attend the ceremony. The ceremony is finished and it's 8:05 AM, their teacher is not yet around and so is Jin. "I did not see him in the ceremony and he's not even here yet" Jael's thoughts. "Nasan kaya y-" "Teka bakit ko hinahanap yon?". He's not aware that Carlos is looking at him while he's staring at the classroom door that is making Carlos grin at him. "OY!" frighten's Jael. Jael was totally out of his mind so he was alarmed. "May inaantay ka?" Carlos asked. "Eh? Haha wala baliw." Jael responded. Carlos then turned to his seat again and saw Jin walking in the hallway. "O andyan na yung inaantay mo." Carlos said while smiling at Jael. "Huh? Anong inaantay?" Jael insisted. He was distracted by Carlos so when he looked at the door, he saw Jin. Jael smiled for a bit and Carlos saw it. "Why am I excited about seeing him?" Jael asked himself in his mind. He's feeling weird about it and it kinda bugged him. Of all people, Carlos is the one who seem to understand him best. It's like he knows what's running on Jael's mind. He's perceptive enough to know that his friend is waiting for Jin. As soon as Jin is seated, he asked Jin: "Bakit parang late ka ngayon?" he asked Jin for the benefit of Jael who is obviously listening to them at the moment. He knew that Jael wants to know why but won't ask because he seem shy because he in denial that he's looking for Jin. "Ahh haha nakalimutan ko kasi mag alarm." said Jin. "Buti wala pa si mam" he added. "Ganun talaga yon laging late" said Carlos. Before Carlos turned to his seat, he winked at Jael. Jael who is aware enough of why Carlos asked, still gave him a confused look but is thanking Carlos inside. "Have you thought about it?" Jin asked Jael. "Huh? Ahh--- yung sa gitara?" Jael conveyed. "Oo, I thought about it" *He did not. For some reasons, he just wanted to do it immediately. "I would teach you the basics pero you don't have to pay me" He added. "Eh? No, it'll be too much trouble for you." Jin said. "Hindi ah. Haha actually, I just realized that I was looking for a reason to play guitar and I saw this as the best opportunity" said Jael. "Sure ka talaga?" "Opo~". "How about we start later after class?" said Jael. "Ehh!? That would be awesome!" "My place?" Jin asked. "That would be better." said Jael. "Then it's decided." said Jin. "What's decided?" said Carlos. "Sa-" Jael is not even finished talking. "-Pwede sumama?" *Smiles like a pervert. "Okay lang sayo Jin?" Carlos asked. "Yea yea. You can come" said Jin. Both Jin and Jael was walking in the hallway while talking and then suddenly Carlos plunges in the middle of the two. "Ano tara na?" Carlos said with excitement. *Face palm "Naglalakad na talaga kami" said Jael. The three of them walked together going to Jin's place. On their way, Carlos was being so talkative, while the two was just listening to him while smiling. They have arrived. "Ito bahay mo Jin?" Carlos asked. "Opo, namin, ng parents ko actually" Jin replied. "Pasok na kayo." *Jin opens the door. "Wow it's pretty empty" said Carlos. "HAHAHA Yea. I just moved here last week so yea." "I? You mean mag isa ka lang dito?" Carlos asked. "Oh haha di mo pa pala alam. Yea, mag isa lang ako dito" said Jin. "Ehh!? for real? Bakit?" Carlos is being nosy again. "Ahh long story" said Jin. "Anyways, Jael, kukunin mo gitara mo diba?" he asked Jael. "Ah, oo haha sorry. Wait lang" Jael then walks out to get his guitar and after a minute he went back. "How should we start?" Jael asked. "How about you play a song for us first?" Jin asked. "Good idea" -Carlos. "Ehh? Hala. Nakakahiya, matagal na akong di nakakapag gitara" -Jael. "Nakooo pa humble ka e, sige na. I haven't seen you play a guitar for so long and I kinda miss it" Carlos said. "Sige na, I'd like to hear you play first" said Jin.
