I tapped my foot, waiting for class to be over. Mattia is just on the other side of the room and I'm over here with his chain tucked into my shirt. I kept it on because I didn't want him to find it in my room. Plus it's not visible this way and I might as well use the time I have with it.

The bell rang and I rushed to the library. Taylor's waiting there for me since she has something to tell me and I have something to tell her.

A tight grip pulled my arm and into a dimly lit aisle in the library. "You go first" I looked at Taylor who sat on the floor. I did the same when she patted the spot next to her. "Basically I was cleaning his room and I just happened to notice his chains and I thought they were really cool and I wanted to try one on but he got home while I had it on so I ran to my room and I didn't realize until after he was already in his room" I gasped for air after my short rant that was one sentence and said with one breath.

"Lucky for you, I caught a snake today. It might have to do with your situation" she slid her phone into my hands. The screen displayed a video. Jenna was standing by what looked to be Mattia's locker. She quickly reached into her bag, grabbing a piece of paper and slipping it into his locker. "It doesn't look suspicious until you really think about it. I already had a bad feeling about her for other reasons but remember, she doesn't like Mattia. Why is she slipping most likely anonymous notes into his locker when they don't associate with each other" she dramatically sipped her iced tea.

She started coughing when she tried to make an annoying noise with the straw. I just laughed at her for being dumb. "Shut the fuck up and show me the chain dumbass" she said between multiple coughs. I pulled out the chain from underneath my shirt and her eyes widened. "Damn he's loaded!"

We ended up getting up and walking around the school. I was about to turn a corner until Taylor stopped me. She pointed at Mattia who opened his locker. The note fell to his feet. He picked up and I could tell he was reading it. I grew curious as to what it was when his eyebrows scrunched. He then slipped it into his backpack and started to walk away.

"Here's the dealio. I'll distract, you grab" before I could protest, she walked away. "Hey Mattia! You don't know me but I was wondering if you'd be interesting in dating one of my friends! He's really into you and I think you'd like him! I'm actually pretty sure you two have met before" she looked at me with a smile. My cheeks flushed red but I decided I need to focus and so I began to slowly unzip his backpack. "Sorry I'm straight and I'm not really looking for a relationship right now" the excitement in my body drained and I stopped what I was doing. "Well I'd really like it if he'd just GO FOR IT and maybe STOP STALLING" Taylor snapped me back into reality.

I shook my head to get rid of my disappointed thoughts and quickly grabbed the slip of paper, walking away. "Nice talk bye!" Were the last words she said before running to catch up to me. I could already imagine the confused look on Mattia's face.

"A chain you seek, a chain you may get. Don't bother looking in your room. A person has already decided to. The person who took it, you may least expect. Don't hesitate when you see the gold hanging from their neck" I grimaced as I read the note. "What kind of humpty dumpty shit was that? That's not even clever" Taylor scoffed. She grabbed the paper from my hand and started tearing it up and then throwing it away.

The bell rang so I began to walk to class. "I knew since day one that she was sus. Quote me on that shit bitch!"
